Numb again

Numb again

I have tried contacting online support but everything is unavailable or offline .

I was raped 7 years ago and things happen so I made myself numb and supprised everything. I learned about the breathing techniques as well as the 5,4,3,2,1 tool. Tonight it's not working . I am having flash backs like crazy and I can't get my mind and body to calm down to relax and sleep . At this stage I am in for a night of night terrors and I can't do that again tonight. I am shutting down again but not sure how to stop it .

Re: Numb again

haha @Pollyotter I already look like that but with completely grey hair too from all the plaster dust. I am painting it a light cream - much lighter than it was - and the trims are a grey-green colour. (called Mossy green). Tobes has been supervising all day but is sound asleep now on the back of the couch - he has had enough!

What kind of work do you do?

Hahah @Zoe7 is the grey hair a view of the Future. Wow interesting colours will look awsome. I saw today on Facebook someone asked about Mossey green tiles . It's pretty .

Toby should get a treat for his hardwork hahah .

Well I am a cleaner I do a whole range of cleaning . From Crime scenes to houses and painting would get involved at some times

Re: Numb again

Oh wow what an interesting job to do and so important @Pollyotter It is people like you that actually keep the rest of us going in work - we would be nowhere without cleaners so hats off to you - that is not a job I could do. I could have done with you today - I have plaster dust everywhere - cleaned the majority of it up but will need a really good clean when I finsih the painting. Tobes did get a treat but he gets one every night

Yes I think the grey is a sign of things to come

Re: Numb again

True @Pollyotter

Just finished the walls and began on the ceiling but my arms have given up so no more painting tonight. I'll clean up soon then have a shower. I'll finish the ceiling in the morning then do another coat on the walls before I head out to do some grocery shopping. I am super tired now also so enough is enough.

What have you been up to tonight? Have you got your worm yet?

@Zoe7
Hey there sorry I missed you last night . I was out like a light .

Dam you are productive indeed. But I bet the room looks fabulous.
The worm has not been captured as of yet as I have been working every day from 6 untill 10 at night but I have not forgotten.
I had a real blond moment today .

I was cleaning this house and there is a cupboard there that is really old and if you don't close the doors properly then they swing open. I turned around to clean the other end of the cupboard and needed to get a dry cloth and I had a fright at my own reflection ... Eeks . But I am home early today . I think my body just needs abit more rest .

Re: Numb again

I was hoping you had gone to sleep @Pollyotter and am so pleased to hear you did

I had a giggle at your description of seeing your reflection - I used to tell the kids I had no mirrors in the house because I had broken them all looking in them - they thought it was hilarious lol

I am also glad you are home early today - 6 to 10 is a very, very long day and an early night and a little self care would certainy help.

I have finished the second coat on 2 of the walls - the biggest and around the window - but still need to do around the door and the other smaller wall. Haven't attacked the ceiling yet as my arms are really sore today and I have to do it all in small batches. I might go to Bunnings tomorrow and get an extension handle - save me going up and down the ladder. I am going to need more paint to do the other rooms eventually so can do that all at once.

Re: Numb again

@Zoe7

It sounds like your keeping very busy in this time.
My heart jumped out of my throat after that fright

Self care is abit of a catch 22 at the moment but what can I say .

An extension pole is Soo worth it at the end and there are loads of uses after wards .

I would be offer to help but jikes

Re: Numb again

Do what you need to take care of yourself @Pollyotter Sleeping last night was a good start. I understand how hard self care is when things really get on top of you but doing the bare essentials - eating, sleeping, showering - are all self care.

I have one wall to finish painting then the second coat is done. It will need a third coat but I will have to do that tomorrow along with the ceiling. Then I will clean everything up and do all the trims - so looks like another couple of days.
