@Former-Member
I am glad you posted to reassure the forum that you are alright, as a few of us did worry.

I agree with what the others said. It is up to you what you do, regarding life and the forum. There is a relational thing called "locus of control". I used to put all my energy out into pleasing others or wanting them to love me. So it was an external locus of control .. or giving away my power. I am an old bird now ... it is still my default mode but I catch myself and have learned many other ways of being in the world as well now. We are interactive social beings and others do effect us ... that can be sensitivy ... it seems growing up is getting a knack of managing that aspect of back and forward interaction ... is easier for some than us ... for a whole pack of reasons.
There is no single right way to be on the forum. You meet people and learn which ones you feel easier with or get along with ...
It is nearly 5 years I have been reading and posting on Sane. People manage their feelings and social interactions in many different ways. Tagging or reducing tagging. Some have changed their avatar and returned with only some people realising.
Sometimes I felt the caring role as a duty. When I have reached out to people who are struggling with active Suicidal ideation it is hard, but I prefer to reach than pass the anyone or post by. I have had to sit with uncertainty about many previous posters. From time to time I still wonder about them, but I am learning not to get too stuck. We have lost someone by cancer. Its the whole shemozzle of real world scenarios on here.
Some people are very fragile ... some are reactive ... some not ...
I have given myself permission to stay away if I dont feel good anout anything on here. Play it by ear. Your ear, and your thoughts and feelings. I felt you wanted to stay but did not know how to disconnect from the conflict and drama. I have existed on the forum ... not feeling compfortable with some threads or posters ... and learned to monitor my feelings and not react. Over time ... things can develop or issues vanish. I have been deeply wounded and totally ropable.
Get into your music ... but realise how different music effects you.... experiment ... its one thing we can do in these crazy isolation times ... did you hear gatherings are reduced to only 2 people indoors or outdoors. At least with online, we dont have that worry ...

Good to see you again.
Cheers Appple
