Is anyone around tonight? Depressed and suicidal

Is anyone around tonight? Depressed and suicidal

Hi everyone on the forums. *Admins/mods, feel free to move this to an appropriate thread if this one isn't the right place.*

I'm really down right now, in a dark place. I want to hurt myself, I'm feeling suicidal. I've never attempted or done anything in my life but I want to.

As I mentioned in one of my posts, I don't see my Psychiatrist again until March 30. Then the new GP on March 13, but I want to see my Psychiatrist more because I feel more comfortable with him.

I also mentioned in another post that the local mental health triage (yes thats what they called themselves) refuse to help me and support me, they just admit people so they won't help or tell me people/places that can. I give up.

I can't get a job, I can't afford to study and the free courses at TAFE & Uni you had to a course already & have qualifications which I don't. I can't meet people. I went to a Headspace Centre & that was bad for me, sometime last year (for a group & Psychologist).

I don't see Psychologists anymore because of bad experiences. I see my Psychiatrist on Skype because he's in Sydney & I'm in Victoria (regional sort of).

I don't know what to do, I just give up. I don't want to be here anymore and I can't stop these thoughts, it's so hard for me not to try and do something and fight the thoughts. I only have my parents but it's so hard.

I'm sorry for coming on here and venting, I know everyone has their own things to deal with. I don't want to call 000 at the moment, I'd have to discuss with my parents anyway but they know everything I go through.

I don't know if these meds are working at all or if i should up the dosage like my Psychiatrist said shortly.

I just want to hurt myself and don't want to be here. I'm so stressed and just ready for a break down. On my walk today with my dog I had a panic attack because of everything and just seeing a few people and cars drive by which gets a bit much for me as silly as that sounds, I know. And I just feel like I'm ready for a breakdown.

Yes I've spoken to Kids Helpline, eHeadspace, Beyond Blue, SANE web chat etc. I might try them now too if I can get through, I don't know.

Re: Is anyone around tonight? Depressed and suicidal

Thanks @Appleblossom and everyone else in the thread.

I'm going to try and take some time away from the forums for a bit, maybe social media too, I don't know. March is also a hard month for me because on the 15th it will be the anniversary of a loved ones passing, so that's always hard, aswell as birthdays and other anniversaries of other loved ones passings.

I'll take on board everyone's suggestions. I might try to do my jigsaw puzzle tomorrow or something else, I don't know. I'm not sure if I'll return or if I do, when. Maybe I might feel a bit better when I see my psychiatrist since that usually helps me a little.

Anyway, apologies again for everything everyone. Bye for now, I'm just taking a break. Can't be bothered tagging everyone again

Hiya @Former-Member ....

Jigsaw puzzles are probably my favourite go-to as a distraction and time-out. There are others here who enjoy them too.

I am sorry to hear that March is such a difficult month for you ..... gently, gently with yourself Hon ......no need to apologise for anything at this end, but of course you are entitled to how you feel, and whatever way you need to express that at the moment. I hope with time, and more feelings of acceptance, you will feel less need to apologise as much, but being kinder to, and more accepting of yourself, is a learning curve, tweaking whatever happened in our lives that causes us to be highly self-critical.

Looking forward to seeing you when you feel up to posting again ....,

💐💕

Hi @Former-Member. Your tag worked this time (just so you know).

I'm with @Appleblossom in not finding trigger warnings helpful. I actually find them kind of unhelpful usually. That's not what this is about but I wanted to add that in also.

It can take some time to find your forum feet and to find what you might get out of the forum. Something I love about the community here is the compassion and understand that flows. We get how tricky things can be and how much of a jumble it can all become. It's OK to have the wobbles and shakes here. In some way or another most of us have been there before.

Taking a break can be helpful. Connecting when things are tough can also be helpful. Anniversaries are so tough for many of us. We're here listening if it could help to share.

Keep on keeping on

❤

Evening @Former-Member

No matter what you want to talk about, no matter what the subject I am hear to chat and to give support if required.

And please don't feel bad about talking about your situation. I have vented about having hard times and not dealing with life too well. And everyone here was nothing but helpful and after that I did not feel like I was the only one in the world feeling this way.

In your post you said that you were young and foolish.................I am old and foolish so don't feel so bad lol. We are in the same boat lol.

We are all here for you my friend........................always.

Hi everyone, just popping in to say hello, and apologies for not replying back to any of you until now, I had a bit of a break from the forums (all of them) and Facebook. Well I've been checking in and reading stuff but not replying so I guess that doesn't really count as a break sort of.

Anyway, thank you all for your kind words, I appreciate it, I'm sorry for all of that stuff beforehand though but I suppose it's over.

I see the GP tomorrow, I don't know what to say and what she'll do. I guess we'll see.

I also went to visit my Grandparents' grave at the Cemetery yesterday (10/03/2020), a 3 hour drive there and back but that's just what i do to pay respect. It's the anniversary of my Grandpa's passing on the 15th but I thought I'd go early.

About the Jigsaw, I've done a little bit of it, not much, it's so hard and frustrating haha. I'll try to do more tomorrow if and when I have time.

Thanks again, I hope everyone's well and my apologies for all the stuff beforehand once again.

Take care everyone. Hopefully it comes up for everyone in their notifications since I typed out all of the usernames again.

Re: Is anyone around tonight? Depressed and suicidal

hey @musicfan_x I hope the visit to your grandparents grave was what you wanted it to be and everything else you needed

Sometimes it is important to do that. I know I will probably do the same when my grandparents pass.

Hope the gp goes okay as well tomorrow

Re: Is anyone around tonight? Depressed and suicidal

Thanks @MDT . Well it's depressing of course and it was a long tiring drive, but they're just buried there because my Nana was born and grew up in that area, a really small country town. I've been there a few times, not much there but that's their wishes. And my Grandpa with her of course. My Nana passed away in 2013 and my Grandpa in 2015. These are my Mum's parents, my Dad's parents passed away before I was born unfortunately.

But yeah it was still nice to visit I guess although I obviously wish they were still here. I also put some flowers on my Nana's Brother's grave because he lived there too and he was always nice to me, he passed away in 2014 or something? I'm not sure but I think it was before my Grandpa.

Yeah I'm not sure what to say to the GP, I'll keep you all updated. I'm going to try and ask if I can change my meds I guess but then she has to get consent and ask my Psychiatrist and I don't know how that will work, it's frustrating. The side effects seem to have gone from the meds but they still don't seem to be working as in making me happier. Not that I've noticed anyway. It's been about 2 weeks since I started this dosage and my Psychiatrist said if they don't work after 2 weeks try a higher dosage but I just want to change the meds all together. Who knows?

Take care.

Re: Is anyone around tonight? Depressed and suicidal

Evening @Former-Member

A visit to your grandparents grave was nice if you could pay your respects and remember them at this sad time. It sounds like you were close; is that right?

My foster father died over 40 years ago and he's buried in a large town about 3hours from me. I don't get down that way much, but when I can I go there and talk to him, put flowers on his grave. And it still makes me sad loosing him and all the missed opportunities and experiences we might have shared. But I try to remember more the better, fun times we had even though I was very young. And I'm do glad he was a part of my life. I feel very privileged to know him.

Perhaps give your meds a little longer to work as it's different for each person. Swapping so soon doesn't give them a chance to work. It took many, many trials to find the right medication for me.

Take care xx
