Suffering in silence

Suffering in silence

I'm a aussie guy 44 and live alone, I have done for a while as I lost my family members to tragedy after tragedy. I lost my wife and kids because of my inability to open up get the help I needed, now 8 years later I have been in a worse position. No friends no family and no direction for my aching heart or my mind of confused confetti. I try to sleep lots as I am not hurting when I sleep, but if I dream of a loved one I wake crying realize that i'm alone and hate the world more once again..I get up each morning and say today I will go out and find things to do. But I cant do it as there's nowhere to go...Although last Sunday I made it to church but I couldn't muster the courage to talk to anyone...I feel each day I become more invisible and soon no one will miss me here?? Help please anyone 😢

Re: Suffering in silence

Hey @Lonelyhart welcome!

I know the experience of feeling invisible.

The forum has helped me connect to people here and then build a bit of confidence in the outside world.

I like gardening too. It's absorbing for me, and I like being outside. We have a forum community garden. I'll tag you in case you haven't already found it.

Anyway, just wanted to say I read your posts and appreciate how difficult it can be feeling isolated/invisible. Take care.

Re: Suffering in silence

Hi @Lonelyhart I live alone too (past 9 years), not by choice.

Separated for 9 years.

I'm sorry to hear that you feel largely invisible to other people - I know that feeling very well, unfortunately.

The only time (mostly) that I do not seem invisible to others - is when I stuff up (eg at work), or when people do not like what I'm doing (or how I'm doing it).

Then I am suddenly very visible, for the wrong reasons....

I'm too tired tonight to say much - just wanted to say hello, & hope you find helpful connections here.

Adge
