Munchies

Munchies

Thought I would start a thread that can be used to chat or talk about food issues, hates or loves. I do comfort eat but also I know its the great human connecting ground, because we all do need to eat, no matter what.

I wondered if some on the forum might relate to this more than the beergarden or the night shift. Hi @Former-Member I was thinking of you but anyone else who is interested may just pop in.

Just had a mandarin, its sweet but lighter flavour than an orange is sometimes just what i need.

Feel free to chat, though.

Cheers

Apple

Re: Munchies

You're welcome @Former-Member ..... let us know how they turn out.

Here is a recipe for Anzac Biscuits - I haven't tried this one, but they are all much of a muchness .....

Anzac Biscuits

1 1/4 cups plain flour, sifted
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup caster sugar
3/4 cup desiccated coconut
150g unsalted butter, chopped
2 tablespoons golden syrup or treacle
1 1/2 teaspoons water
1/2 teaspoon bicarb soda

Preheat oven to 170C. Place the flour, oats, sugar and coconut in a large bowl and stir to combine.

In a small saucepan place the golden syrup and butter and stir over low heat until the butter has fully melted. Mix the bicarb soda with 1 1/2 tablespoons water and add to the golden syrup mixture. It will bubble whilst you are stirring together so remove from the heat.

Pour into the dry ingredients and mix together until fully combined. Roll tablespoonfuls of mixture into balls and place on baking trays lined with non stick baking paper, pressing down on the tops to flatten slightly.

Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown.

Re: Munchies

Tonight I cleared out bits of old nuts and put it into a yummy KORMA with chicken chick peas and veg and rice.

No one likes Anzac bikkies in my family so I dont bake much anymore. Going on diets ha!

I did watch the ANZAC Girls tv series and loved that. Doing some special music at the moment specially composed to celebrate the end of WW1.

Am sitting at my desk trying to write an essay for uni and I eat without thinking. As a friend says, 'whatever it takes to get you through.'

Re: Munchies

Not much essay writing happening though as I sit here on the forum. I need some inspiration.

Re: Munchies

Has anyone with bipolar got any experience of study and the type of issues they had, as I am always so late with getting my work in and I wonder if it is due to the illness, or perfectionism.
I feel that I need to have a justification for my slackness.

I like savoury foods best and pasta is one of my favourite dishes. Not Italian but admire their variety of foods and cooking. Ciao from Bimby2
