Munchies

Munchies

Thought I would start a thread that can be used to chat or talk about food issues, hates or loves. I do comfort eat but also I know its the great human connecting ground, because we all do need to eat, no matter what.

I wondered if some on the forum might relate to this more than the beergarden or the night shift. Hi @Former-Member I was thinking of you but anyone else who is interested may just pop in.

Just had a mandarin, its sweet but lighter flavour than an orange is sometimes just what i need.

Feel free to chat, though.

Cheers

Apple

Re: Munchies

yuuuuuummmmmmmm Late dinner here, baked potatoes with last night's leftover savoury mince. Smothered in grated cheese. Bucketloads of it. Any wonder I've put on 20k..... Lol

@Appleblossom

I am am pretty good with my munchies. I tend to go for seaweed crackers which are low in salt and have no sugar. Occasionally I am naughty with chips and biscuits. I love my salads and cook my own popcorn. The kernels have no salt or sugar so they are healthier.

Re: Munchies

Choc Chip and Orange Biscuits

125g butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
1/4 tsp salt
1 3/4 cups self-raising flour
150g milk choc chips
Grated rind of one orange
Juice of one orange

1. Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Line three trays with baking paper and set aside. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter, sugar and vanilla.

2. Add the egg and then flour and salt and combine.

3. Stir in the chocolate chips, orange rind and orange juice. If the mixture is a bit sticky, add a little more flour.

4. Roll into teaspoon-sized balls and place on prepared trays, leaving enough room for mixture to spread as it cooks. Bake for 8-12 minutes. Leave on the tray for a few minutes before continuing the cooling on wire racks.

Re: Munchies

Thanks for that @Faith-and-Hope, maybe when I get the energy yo clear the benches.

The fellow who was good enough to cart away the tree trunk that fell specifically asked for Anzac Biscuits instead of a meal (to say thank you). So i'm looking for the best recipe i can find to give that a bash.

Some biscuits give me bad acid, i'd like to know what ingredient does that. Find an alternative.

Wish my girl was here to see motivated to do it. Betta late than never, haha 💜

👍thanks @again ❓😁
