Hi @Faith-and-Hope....
Yes, I stayed up till 12 & saw Aussies win a silver in rowing & set my alarm for 4 to see one of my favorite athletes Jessica Fox win bronze in canoe salom (I got to sleep sometime past 1 & up at 4 - back in bed about 4:30? & up at 7:30 to get ready for yoga!)
I had anorexia nervosa when I was 15 - my bmi/weight became significantly low & my parents did not get help for me - my mum especially begged (as well as sister & friends being concerned) that I eat, because they were scared I would die... I put on weight, because I was a people pleaser & didn't want to hurt people (even though I also struggled with sucidality back then - actually since I was 10), but still kept my bmi below the healthy range - my bmi only went into a healthy range when I maybe late 18's or 19 (I've had extensive ECT & have so significant memory loss, so can't remember a lot of details) At one stage I was running on the beach before & after work & going to a personal trainer too - before I had a nervous breakdown at 21. My point is I didn't have a formal diagnosis, but I definitely had anorexia. I was diagnosed with EDNOS (eating disorder not otherwise specified) in 2005 by a psychiatrist.... I went to a great organisation for group therapy in Brisbane, which really helped & my partner also helped enourmously. I felt like I recovered maybe when I was about 25? I am still haunted by 'eating disorder demons' at times... I now weigh the same as I did when I was 21 & I'm 34, but still struggle with body image at times....
Is your husband struggling with anorexia, bulimia, 'over eating' -can't use a certain word that the disorder is actually called - or combination? Have you heard of The Butterfly Foundation? If you contact them they may be able to give you some tips on how to help him & or get him to get professional help.... You've said you have done all you can do & I'm sure you have tried so hard - I hope there is a breakthrough soon.
I think I will have a nap now....
Namaste,
A
