I am having thoughts constantly about being so destructive when I next see my psych. I can visualise it so much, so clearly that I want to do it.
I visualise that I feel so angry inside that I release all this emotion at my session. I start throwing things around, screaming, kicking things etc etc.
Lots of support here for you, you do matter, warts & all. Glad your Dr was understanding today. Last year my 24yo son went to San Francisco for work. I can completely relate to your anxiety over it, all, the 'what ifs' - nightmares & imagining the worst. And they're so far away. We love them so much.
Having adult children is MORE than wearing your heart on your sleeve, its sending it out in an unpredictable, sometimes unsafe world 😨
After all the precautions, recommendations & preparations have been attended to, I think Its really important our kids know that we trust them & have every confidence they will be ok, and you'll cook up his fav meal when he gets home...
I'll never forget my 4yo son on the monkey bar struggling to reach the next rung. He was doing real well until he loomed up at me, saw the worried look on my face & almost immediately the confidence melted away & he fell. From that day on i knew how important it was for him to know i believe in him & know he can do this.
Of cause, i frantically pray yo an all powerful omnipotent God & a thousand angels... lol
What i like best about being physically 'sick' with the flu or something, is not having the energy to be anxious about everything. Just doesn't happen. Have you ever felt that?
Saw my psychologist today, she says i have Complex Trauma & PTSD from unfavourable childhood experiences. She's taking me through mindfulness relaxations & self compassion exercises which i so hope helps the emotional intensity. Gotta keep those stress levels down.
Know its really hard to read when ya agitated but if you can get your hands on the book 'The Reality Slap' by Russ Harris, it might help.
