Hey @Former-Member,

i don't know if I can help. I struggle with crisis lines and can totally understand that it must be harder for you. I have been guilty of being ignorant and naive to your disorder too for which I am sorry😔

So in trying to help the best way I can I have only thought of one suggestion which may not help at all but I still figure is worth putting out there. During the week I had a situation where I was struggling to make a decision (please bear with me as I know this is not you but maybe thinking laterally may help). i asked my therapist for help and she asked me what my healthy adult would suggest and I got angry and said i obviously had no idea. She then asked what her healthy adult would suggest to do which I could work it out and think through it. My idea is can you write out or play out somehow a session with your therapist, maybe if you know them well enough you may be able to find some answers to help keep you safe or to find some comfort to help ease the distress.

I can't imagine how difficult this must be for you but from what I've read you seem strong and intelligent. I'm really hoping you can use those gifts to stay safe. Thinking of you and sending hugs😊💜

PS I thought @Appleblossom s idea of the scrap book was really good too

@Former-Member You are real ... and your therapist knows you are real and cares about your quality of life as she doesnt want you self harming or hurting yourself.

I had a big thing about being invisible for decades ... in an anonymous world we can feel that nobody knows us or cares ...

I dissociated a lot ... in a weird way I actually wanted to do astral travelling ... as I'd heard about that in the fringes of society where I lived as a teen ... which battled with my physics /maths side ... der you dont believe in that dumb stuff Apple ... but now i know that I always could Astral travel or dissociate ... whats in a label. it can be saving grace for getting out of bad situations ... but kids ... even grown up kids. ... need their parents to be grounded in a common reality with them ...

what will you do with them? ... talk, go for walks ... cook a meal ... play frisbee ... make plans to fill some of the time ... you dont need to be rigid at the plans ... but have a few things up your sleeve ... so that might help keep the fear of flipping out at bay.

I wish i could see my daughter ... but she is still angry with me ... so i wait ... this forum helps me keep on waiting.

@Former-Member Re your therapist being more concerned and caring for you than you isn't strange. I have the same relationship with mine. She often lets me know that she believes in me and sometimes this gets me through because it's helps to know someone does, if I or anyone else doesn't.

Really hoping your visit to see your kids goes well. It is important. Wishing you the best with it😊💜

Hi @Former-Member

I was reading the thread and realised I was putting likes into what seems a very old convo - and I am wondering what happened with all of that

Did you finally get treatment for your arm - I don't know what happened - I can only imagine

I understand how you were feeling though - I was feeling okay when I was in a private hospital for surgery - that was years ago and I borrowed money from my mother and had the surgery as soon as possible - but being in a public hospital gives me the screaming willies and I feel as if I am in prison - and I identify with my son who died in prison - so if I was sitting around for 3 days sweating it out I think it would be better if I left too

I have seen your name before - and maybe I can catch up with you on this thread - but I feel so strongly for you I thought I would answer this post now in case I forget or couldn't find it again

Care lots

Decadian
