Re: ugh not again no

Oh hi @Former-Member

I don't know what happened with your surgery but I understand that it seems weird that you can't remember the date or it's sort of vague or whatever has happened

It's strange - I do believe in co-incidences - and the first part of the conversation with @Appleblossom was on the 16th of July which is the 30th anniversary of my son dying - and I mention this because of what I wrote in the above post

Really - it seems I was meant to read all of this - and I really care - even though I don't think I have chatted with you much before.

Since I have been in this site I have learned so much about disassociation and SI and other issues - I really had no idea about - but treading all this has given me such insight - I feel I understand a lot of things so much better from people who have been on the inside of what my son suffered but could never tell me

I hope all this works out for you - for some reason what you have written has really touched me and I care and hope your arm is okay and that you are getting on all right - I know it's not really good - but okay

Re: ugh not again no

@Former-Member,

I'm here, listening.

Feeling real in the present is important. Do you need to relate to the you that harmed? I often don't relate to myself in past recollections. It's weird and different to the experience of many, but I've learnt that I am still me when I am me, if that makes sense.

It became especially clear when I went from swimming to no swimming, and then without even planning it my life centred on water again once me. So I take great relief and solace in that,in that I'm not a liar or playing up or I don't even know.

I'm probably not even referencing anything relevant for you! Your post just hit me with those experiences of mine. How my acute illness is surreal and seemingly irrelevant as it is so contradictory to my well state or even just my rational mind, where my rational mind is present (even in a considerably unwell state).

Now I am rambling.

Hope you are ok, here and now? X

Re: ugh not again no

Hi @Former-Member I have always had issues with time but apparently it isnt that unusual. I have done jobs twice too or missed them, kids got fed late, or not been sure if a day, a week or month had passed. One lady I know simply says she is not good at elapsed time.

Hope your time with your kids was good.

Healing time does matter. Its just that I dont know how long it takes but usually more time than less.

Is it weeping or infected? Are you managing it or can some else to do it?

Take care @Former-Member

Re: ugh not again no

@TAB,

I replied to a post Briar left here yesterday,Aug 18.

"I searched for this thread to find the date when an injury happened - the one that we hid when we had surgery for the one that we talk about here. I'm pretty sure that it was 2-3 weeks before that one, so roughly mid-May? - 3 months ago. It's still getting daily dressings. That's why I was interested in the time scale. It's hard to make that seem real to me. It seems so totally insignificant. I guess I'm trying to understand why others might not think it so, but it just doesn't seem to penetrate, you know. Does the healing time even matter? Sorry for the weird post. "

I wish to comfort Briar in that such feelings of loss of timeline and grounding in memories is something others experience. It would seem logical for one to not relate to past experiences if they are guided by a less grounded experience at the time? It is weird and not many understand. I have had many people incredulously ask 'what do you mean you don't remember, or can't tell me how you felt?'. The answer I give these days is that it just is, and I don't know, probably something to do with irrational or illogical processing at the time, which now I no longer relate to. In other words, would they have me respond any other way? Would they rather I am nonsensical 24/7?

I wonder if this is what you are experiencing, @Former-Member? But mostly just thinking of you and hope that you feel grounded most in here and now.
And healing time definitely matters. X

Hi @Sehnsucht

Thanks for your post - I feel very deeply for @Former-Member myself - although I am not sure what happened to her - it seems she has had a pretty tough time with her arm

It must have been traumatic - and sometimes we would rather not remember something like that
