Re: Sleeping too much

hello tab, tawney

wont do the at thing then if you are busy i wont be interrupting will I.

I tend to read back anyway.

yes was referring to you re back pain, depression, motivation etc thought you meant you were going away for a while or moving on elsewhere.

change of scenery for one day just as good if not better, slowly, slowly rather than another overwhelming change and adapting.

do tell us all about what you see etc on your big day out (bands?)

yes that does mean more than one liners Tab laugh.

Tawney,

so sorry that you experienced that on your birthday. some people dont realise that they only think of themselves and if you didnt send them a card, how outrageous.

i let go of that stuff years ago as i left a trail of lost friends with my ongoing illness backing out of things at last minute etc.

Are you still working? you were doing so well and loving the customer service.

anniversaries i think cause more trouble than they are worth. i am trying not to keep dates in mind re contact from my older son. I just am working on now, still working at it as is almost impossible. i hate that i cant get in touch with him, he can only get in touch with me. so i worry, what if he is so low.....then i have to stop myself . no what ifs.

perhaps this might help with selfish friends. people who send you unpleasant text messages are not true friends. you are better off without them in your life.

none of us know what the future holds, so while we can we live in the now and look for all of the little things that we take for granted. Nature is so beautiful at times of distress. xxx

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member,

Sorry for the delay replying. I totally agree with your idea of tossing out those labels, but its still important to have a good understanding of your own personal expereinces related to your mental health states, especially how they might change in different contexts/environments (like you have suggested it is difficult at times for you at work; and for example this feeling may differ when your around peeps who you feel more comfortable with?)

We all have many different things which we can 'take on-board' as part of our identity, we can choose which ones we really think are important and meaningful; ...if we take on-board our 'label' we risk taking on board, and owning, all the social stigma and discrimination related to 'labels'...I personally believe it is being unfair to ourselves if we take ownership of society's sterotypes...

We are all people, not labels.

If we were in recovery from a broken arm we would not label ourselves as a 'broken arm person', so why should we label ourselves permanently with whatever diagnosis we have

*** I believe that the only time labels are useful are when we need tools to assist us to make decisions about appropriate treatment and support 🙂

However, sometimes i do disclose my 'labels' if I feel there is a chance to break down sterotypes, but this by no means I define myself by my 'labels' 🙂

Re: Sleeping too much

happy birthday, tawney. show yourself the love however, you can. look up 'spoling yourself' and/or 'self-nurturing techiques' online - there are some cheap and easy ones. giving yourself a hug actually works, even if you 'feel odd' doing it. And ask God for some help 🙂

Nighty night 😴💜

I hope you are ok.

Heading off in the morning for 3 night break and hopefully forget problems for a short while.
