I certainly get it and I would never side with her - I have my own mother (dec) to refuse to side with

I know what thoughtless and cruel things are said and we are told whatever we are told by people who have wonderful mothers.

If you have to throw up - that might not be a bad idea - as horrible as it is - but yes - chill if you can

Your mother did not ring your on your birthday DELIBERATELY. Wow!!!! Three times!!!!!

I cannot say what I really think because it would not pass moderation - but

I think it's cruel - I think even her being thoughtless would be better than this kind of cruelty - I think it is a horrible way to treat you - I can't think of anything more nasty -

When I think of all the hard work you did for your mother and how she seemed to resent it - this gave me insight into what kind of life you must have had - and mine was different but had a lot of mother-cruelty in it - and I feel so sad for you and sad for myself too

My mother - ah - the last time I saw her before her fatal stroke was very insightful about this kind of behaviour - we don't cause it - we don't invite it and we don't deserve it - my mother was deaf and could not hear me so I did not speak - and she could not speak either - so the words did not get in the way and she must have known she was dying and I had not seen her for 2.5 years. But I stroked her hand and wiped the tears from her face and decades of time was rolled endlessly into maybe half an hour when the very officious TS and her husband came back from lunch and took the rest of my mother and our lives away from us.

She died shortly after - I forget how long - just over two years ago though - and I do not feel regrets nor guilt about any of my behaviour. Yes - she was cruel and your mother is cruel and we are better than them - the pain of it though - I guess that will last with us at times for the rest of our lives - and how are we expected to understand such cruelty?

We can't - but maybe it spreads more thinly when shared - you are not alone and neither am I

Well I had a go at back lawn, think may have destroyed landlords lawnmower now lol @Former-Member oh well consequences of letting things go, plus its not even finished.

Yes, well I guess you don't have to have people over , and if you dont drink, lifes probably a lot more simple than if took it up again, even if you do feel nervous sometimes

Going to forget about lawn again today. mower might be ok still if get lawn down to normal height before attempting again lol

Think shower and go get food here, else may do something silly unless eat

Flash flooding seems everywhere. My son is naughty and gone quiet, not answering my 3hr check in I asked for. Its a worry with him by the river, his new car is in the basement of his unit block but his flat is top floor (6). Hope, pray he's OK. Pesky cyclone. Haha, I have a SIL called Debbie.
