Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member

I live in Melbourne - and I am sure we have had enough rain - but still

It rained heavily into the night - and it is a rather bleak and cold day

I have to remember - we had a 13 year drought - and that was hard on everyone - we were asked to restrict our showers to 4 minutes - (who counts minutes in the shower) watering our gardens was limited to an hour every second morning and I wore the grass down watering my new pencil pines - one survived and is now huge - the other one died - ah

My grand-daughter was 16 or so - and she had not known heavy rain for hours on end - all day - though during the drought we did have HRE - Heavy Rain Events - and twice my cat was outside and got caught in rain that got in everywhere - wherever she hid - yes - I know about drowned cats - my own looked like something another cat dragged in

I hope you get rain through - I have not been to Queensland - you said you had six weeks of summer left - here we call it autumn on the 1st of March- that's next week

But March can get hot - but I still feel as if we had a tardy spring when the days grew longer but the weather did not improve and the summer has been indifferent - talk about climate change

LITTLE POEM
What's to do
Or who I am
Tiny baby
Rolling pram
The sun is hot
The sky is vast
Many questions
Moving fast
Ripples stop
Waters still
Merging softly
Natures will

Was pretty down writing this this last night. Not good at asking for help ('Feel Weird) but guess that's not what the forums are for. Just came to the conclusion last night how much of a 'sorry excuse for a human being' I've become. Questioning the value in the fight. Don't wanna bring anyone down here - we all have our cross to carry.

Gone from 'why doesn't anyone visit me?' To 'just stay away' but that's a delusion thinking I have to 'lock them out' ha People don't need me in their life or have room. And yes, I'm talking about everybody. Excluding abusive family of cause (some people would take your last breath off us). Its just... well, is it worth it? Pretending I have a place here anymore?

Guess, to come back to the 'practical present' - I can't seem to get anything done, and neglecting adl's... The laying aroundcwaiting for it to pass seems to be counterproductive. then I feel disgust.

I don't know, just gotta push harder I guess, maybe the focus, the energy will come in the trying.

Think I'll forget garage sale, call the Vinnies truck so I don't have to trip over it all anymore. My last task - clearing it out - get it empty so my son can sell it easy if I don't make it.

He finally answered my Sat tx this morning (after also declining my ph call Fri), very 'matter-a-fact' - having left it till his Mon morning rush to work time Think he must block me or so - even though I try so hard to be 'better' 'stronger' person around him, for him. Yesterday i finally started cutting him loose (brain not heart) as our kidz were only on loan anyway, and maybe my MI & poor choises damaged raising him more than i realise. Better off without me I guess. That's how it is all over the world, where's the love, the forgiveness, the commitment or acknowledging the good that is amongst the crap? Who can see it anymore, the 'real' treasures, the stuff we can't buy? That's all I have to offer him and he can't see it let alone value it. Maybe one day, F&H.

Its gonna be hard but guess I'll start with shower. Hope I haven't dumped too much. Just sorting my head. Thanks. Don't have to comment. xox

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Owlunar, typing same time. The weather does bring us something to talk about, always changing. We have had rain, the plants love it, everything is better for it. Hope its not messing too much with your bones. Melbourne weather! What's your plans today? I have to get some determination & push through this dark cloud that's come over me. Get out of my head, starting with 'the shower' catch up later xox

Good Poem @Former-Member

I can't tell you why I think it's a good poem - it just it

Tawnz - if you were here in my life - not just someone on my elist - I would be delighted to know you -

To feel free to drop in for a coffee and a chat and not have you rush me off for whatever reason that was not something like a doctor's appointment or shopping that you needed to do right away - but always a "Come back later" in the comment

But to have someone ask me in - to move books off a chair and to sit down just delighted to have me there - wow - that would be fantastic

My social life is twice a week to the doctor where I usually chat with the practice manager and the staff and the people who come to help me out here - these people are so important to me

And so are your messages - I sense in you a loneliness I know about but seldom feel -

I am on good terms with dd and her family - but people are so busy - it's the busyness of the world that makes for the Eleanor Rigby's of the world

You mean so much to people here - I love to see a new message - I love to read your comments

You are a kind and loving person with so much to give -

Your visits in the Forum are great for me - I know you feel alone - so do I - but you are not unloved

Lots and lots of hugs

Re: Sleeping too much

Dear @Former-Member

I tell myself to drag me carcass outta bed too. Dont go to disgust .. tho .. find a way to ease up on that .. we all deserve a rest and your trip would have taken a lot out of you physically and emotionally..

One thing that helped me was when I found I started bouncing out of bed for a while .. when I realised it I was pleased .. that I had found energy again .. never thort it possible .. and saw it as confirmation .. that when I was struggling to get out .. I was tired ...

I like your christian attitudes and behaviours .. better than at my church .. nice to meet you here in cyberspace.

Martha & Mary .. is the little gem .. about not always having to be a busy busy bee.

I have been getting back into my musical year.. not posting a lot .. just checking in .. also doing a lot of self care .. looking at art .. and writing and reflecting ...

Hey sista .. you can do it .. re LIFE. btw .. I am being kind to self re .. daily goals .. I think about all sorts of images re positive ageing ..

I dont think I could be bothered to do a garage sale .. you'd have to be "into" it .. no judgement either way ..

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Appleblossom

I love the Mary and Martha story - it's a little gem - I taught it in CRE to the little kids and one little boy put up his hand and said "My Daddy is a Mary Person"

I liked that - I replied "So am I"

But we need both - perhaps if our society was all Mary people nothing would get done and we would eat yoghurt and fruit and nuts a lot - but all Martha people would mean - like - too many cooks etc

So we need a balance

A slight change in my medication means I wake up more easily - a major change in our weather means I found it agony to get out of bed - though I think the weather is improving gradually

I emailed my letter to the Juvenile Justice Centre this morning - I wonder what my response will be - so far people have taken me seriously - understanding where I am coming from - I would like there to be a delay in people responding if they are thinking it over or talking about it in a serious manner

You are an inspiration Apple - I find it hard to get up with my back pain - how I wish that would go away - but it's as hard to shift as anything else when it comes to getting up in the morning

Re: Sleeping too much

Thanks @Appleblossom, @TAB, @Owlunar, I know, guess I wouldn't hit anyone else quite so hard with this words as o did myself yesterday. And I do appreciate the very real or genuine spirit that comes from all of you here. Sometimes it gets foggy sorry, dark. Just gotta "keep on swimming" no matter what speed. At least I got KYB study done but didn't make it out the house in time. Thanks again. xox
