Re: Sleeping too much

@Decadian, @TAB, dad says his DVA pension is the same as mums aged pension. The benefits really kick in with his 'Gold Card' for medical. EVERYTHING is covered and boy does everyone use it. Home care, private hospital, you name it, nearly everything is free. Mum gets a bit jealous sometimes but a lot spins off to her as well - like with home help & transport.
@TAB, sorry to read about your troubles with ya dad. So wish we could all just get along, hugzz

Re: Sleeping too much

I understand @TAB

A certain elderly man in my life had the age pension and the blind pension and I think a DVA pension and his super - and I can't swear to everything - but he was certainly collecting legally

About the Gold Card and hospital - wow - for years I had no private insurance after paying it for 40 years - and now I have it again - but yesterday I learned that the have moved the small private hospital that my clinic had admitting rights to forever - and now my clinic has no admitting rights anyway

Having private insurance means though if I need surgery for any reason I can be admitted to the hospital where the surgeon operates and get it all attended to asap - but with chronic pain I have no alternative but to get to a public hospital and take my chances there and those chances can vary from wonderful to horrible

A number of times in my life I have got up, got dressed and gone home - sometimes without telling anyone and usually without signing anything. Hospitals are not prisons - and we do not deserve this

Let's say when I said I understood - or got it - I feel ripped off myself - and at the same time there are people riding the gravy train and this is really hard to understand

Another thing that is not often noticed - people on pensions do a lot of voluntary work and I have - and I think it's wonderful that people do - who would do the work if not those people on benefits

And if also seems that if a job is worth doing it's worth paying someone - but still - volunteers do the work and I know myself it's a good thing to do

Yet this man - his comment - some people have to go to work to earn money so they can pay taxes - true - but some of us are unable to work and this was a hard comment

I have been brutally means-tested - I am not at all happy about this

Re: Sleeping too much

Hmm, hiya @Faith-and-Hope, @Owlunar, @TAB, @Shaz51, @Appleblossm, and anyone.

I was gonna ask "what's cooking?" but think we all are lol. Its 37° on my veranda atm but we did get a slight drop of rain o/n and there's some thunder busters floating about. Still got another 6wks of summer. My sis can't handle the heat, she married one March - fainted at the alter just before the reading of the vows, lucky my bro2 (then clad in his handsome army uniform), he caught her. Her bridal team took her out in fresh air a bit, I filled in with some songs on guitar. She did come good and got married that day. The heat really does get to us, some more than others. Everyone's sick of it this year.

Can't seem to get my head around much lately but did have a lovely long conv with an old friend just before.

Trying to make a space for a his new recliner so I can sit comfortable for a change. Small house, uts hard on the back moving furniture grr but be good done.

Haven't heard from 'them' today, accept rang dad in hospital still - he misses mum - so sweet.

Oops, just realused i havent had my pills, xox
