Re: Sleeping too much
That means a lot ..... ❤💕
I am actually afraid of how decestated he is likely to be when he finally realises ..... if he joins the dots and realises that this has impacted the rest of us as much as it has .....
Just takin' all the baby steps and putting our faith front and centre ..... won't know how it's going to play out till we get there and can tie ourselves up in knots worrying about it, so I try not to project too much ..... just live in the moment.
And laugh, and walk, and chat, and paint .... have to make life happen in spite of this.

Nice to have the chance to give, gives pressing on some purpose. The whole church is helping, is this one of the reasons? Or perhaps its more to do with bringing a touch of heaven on earth "Thy will be done on earth..." Hope so.

Hi @Former-Member
What a lovely few experiences today 🙂 Love swapping fresh produce! that's great! hope you get the chance to chat again with your backdoor neighbours.
So sad to hear about the mum with serious cancer. I think it's so great that you are able to help her with something so necessary 🙂
How are you doing?

Hi @Former-Member I love the over the fence stories. Read about them before I actually ever experienced it. I had one of my first really good chats when girls were young with a lovely proper Aussie lady next door. I had not had a back fence til then. She told me how to do roast lamb which I had also never known about ... and her little blue eyed blonde grandchild would come play with our girls. She was never mean to me, but I guess she was a whole generation older ... so not as competitive. I visited her a few times after we left that house and it was always lovely. I did not really expect her to visit me as she was getting on, and it did not need to be a reciprocal thing.
Glad your church is looking after the young mum with cancer ... I tend not to call that kind of thing God's Grace .. it is a tragedy and it is GOOD that she has a caring community around here to make a bit of difference.
@Faith-and-Hope Yes Manorexia .. or other versions of body image concerns ... is an issue .. I have heard dad's tell worries with sons who only eat supplements from jars and spend their life at the gym. it is ab out the illusion of control ... we have a bit of control in how things turn out in life ... but not as much as some people preach ... so people turn it in on themselves .. instead of just accepting themselves. I too hope WH wakes up.
My surviving brother has a serious food regimen ... that has now become his life, whereas in the first half of his life he exuberated in being an empire building money making machine ... now that he is dealing with cancer, God and spiritual things come to the fore more. The pity is ... the wife did not have a good mum like yours ... so their family much more of a mess ... she is damaged in a different way to her mum ... a seriously dysfunctional hoarder with poor social skills and great rage. I cant visit her house any more as she puts my neck out just being in the room with her antics ... it is tragic too ... she will get all the money ...and my baby brother .. may not last the year out .. but he has great "spirit" if not a great spirituality ... he knows he was a ruthless player when he was well ... he will try and control it enough to get into a good palliative care place ... then again he was abandoned at 6 months and brought up by a couple of old foster family drunks .. so he did his best in his way .. it is what it is .. We are totally opposed on finance and gender issues .. but I still love him as baby bro ..
love to hear your earthy stories @TAB
