Re: Sleeping too much

Yep, I glue foil to a greeting card, cut it in two & slip it into each side of my wallet - that paywave scanner can be very sensitive sometimes. Also,
If you send cash in letters it blocks the postal x-ray & potential thieves detecting it.
Yes, its a good sunblock for windows which is why they put it on windscreen shades. My brother buys the big truck ones for his windows as they look nicer (and block the infrored deathrays :/)
Mast had a friend ring. Wakes up the spirit.

Hey, any suggestions for using up a couple of sweet potatoes? Don't normally like the taste but they're suppose to be good for you & I got given some 🙂

Yeah @TAB .... on the surface it can look 'normal' in the mid-life-crisis sense ..... thought that was 'all it was' at first .....

We refer to this thing as The Regimen cos it's an all-day-every-day tightly-controlled schedule of diet and exercise, mixed in with "clean" foods and "elixir of youth" foods .... aka mid-life-crisis. There are other components as well, but some key words get blocked on this site .... for good reason .... so I will leave them out here ..... suffice to say it's not normal ....

He's a bit in his own world, and has worked out that The Regimen doesn't work very well with family life .... so he's taking off a lot on work assignments (self-employed).

@TAB

Well that is a positive use for death rays 8 suppose ..... 😏

@Former-Member

We loooove sweet potato in our house ....

Peel, chop into wedges, drizzle with oil and oven roast. Serve with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce.

Use as a base for a Winter soup the same way you would use regukar potato .... for cream of cauliflower, or pumpkin and carrot, parsnip etc ....

Roast and add to a chicken salad.

Cook with chickpeas, add curry, and serve over rice.

Hey @Former-Member and Everyone

I love sweet potatoes and they are so much healthier than white potato as there is less starch and more vitamins & fibre.

You can mash them, mixed in with white spuds if you like. Put them in a vege soup. Make like scalloped potatoes with cream, garlic & cheese on top. Someone else said roasted.

My favourite sweet pot is the red/purple skin one, which when you roast it up with butter & salt, caramelises in the most amazing yummy way 🙂

While we are on the topic of nutrition, try and catch the Catalyst program called Gut Reaction on ABC Iview. It has some important new info about direct links between gut health and many common health conditions/illnesses. Nothing that we haven't heard before: less sugar & bad fats, processed foods; more vege & fruit fibre. But now there is scientific evidence to show that if you change your diet for the better, especially increase fibre, you can reduce many symptons or even eliminate disease.

Exciting stuff. I am currently studying the link between gut health and nervous system disorders including mental illness. Will keep you posted!

Best,

Frog
