Re: Sleeping too much
I'm proud of myself, just cleaned out the fridge, what a disaster zone, one expiry date was 2004. It took me over an hour and the front bin is almost full again. O find it easier to put a couple of hours in after they're in bed as mum gets really agitated when I'm busy around her. And I know she wouldnt let me toss half the stuff I did. Got a feeling I'm gonna get an earfup on the morning though. The fridge is half empty. But must say, mum is a lot less difficult than she was last time (if you can imagine that).
Hey, here's one for the cat lovers, while cleaning the fridge I could hear mums cat meaning softly but close, he wasn't in the house or outside the doors and there he was, eyeball to eyeball with me looking in the kitchen window chatting to me sitting on the fense, cute. He saw me reach for his snacks and dashed for his food bowl by the front door. Happy thing. So many animas here

@Appleblossom ,,, hi babe.....
Dear @Former-Member, @Faith-and-Hope esp. @Decadian @Former-Member @Shaz51
I just feel sad that @Former-Member was writing about the community order anti psychotics which don't work..... whos been there ?? I certainly have...
This was when @Former-Member I needed to wipe the tears away from my eyes and put a restraining order on my husband about 3 years ago, amybe more. The hospitals were'nt accepting him when he was really really ill.....he needed a rehab with very big strong walls to handle his psychosis even though he was on those bloody anti psychotics. He was trying to quit alcohol and drugs. I had to live my life. And there was no no help.
I can't ask to or tell you what to do @Former-Member.....but can I give you a suggestion? Can you imagine clear water washing over yourself when you leave your parents home?
Visions are good....
Take care from PP

Re: Sleeping too much
I understand, I used to help clean mum's house (she never expected it, but it felt right at the time). She has cleaners now, through an organisation.
My alcoholic brother has always been the "taker", grrr! I never want to see him again (many reasons, triggers etc).
Not meaning to talk about myself, just sharing that I've been through similar and it's very draining.
Rest whenever you can. 😙❤👍

Aw @Former-Member
I want to cry - the picture of you cleaning out the fridge around midnight with the use-by dates going back as far as 2004 is so sad - and so dangerous- your poor old dad in his happy dementia place eating old food - that is really really bad - and your parents need help - more help than you can give them -
Do they not realise that food is just as wasted if it goes bad than if we just took it out when it was fresh and binned it? Probably not.
This help that they could get - help I have - keeps people in their homes for as long as they want to - but they have to be able to manage and it seems as if they can't. This puts you in a terrible position - and it has been going on for so long
I KNOW how badly your parents want to stay in their own home - and I don't know the situation in other states - but I have an Aged Care Package I never use - and that is having respite - mostly paid for by the Government - and I also have another package that pays for all the help I get through an agency
I seems your parents need this kind of help desperately - but I have the feeling they won't have it - their choice - but I feel so much for you staying there now - caught between two hard rocks - reality and reality
Please Tawney - have you left yet or is this another day - I am praying for you - the first thing I did when I got up - late - I got onto the computer to see where you were at
We love you here Tawney - it must be a dark place where your parents are - in the sense that there is no light coming in the windows -
Please write again soon Tawney so I know what you are doing today
