Hi @PeppiPatty
Writing takes a lot of effort - if you have writte 3 pages I can estimate that over time you have written 300 pages - or more - that you have rewritten, compressed, altered or put aside to add later
Keep up the good work - you have had a lot to deal with in the past and like you said - it took you about a year to work out what you wanted to write
I have a lot of sheets of a novel I started to write years ago - I lost track of all of what I was trying to write - so long ago now - I couldn't seem to find an ending - like that piano joke about "I know this tune has an finish somewhere but I can't seem to find it"
It's a lot of work - a lot of research - and great that you have three pages - I bet there is a lot more than that around

Hi @Former-Member. My concern here is sleep apnea. If you sleep at the drop of a hat during daylight, it's possible you stop breathing at night during sleep. Have you ever been tested for apnea? Perhaps a word with your Dr about apnea might help settle your mind on that score. Often new medication/s take time to adjust to, if that is the case, I suggest you talk to your G.P anyway. Take care of yourself TAWNEY.

Hi everyone 😊💕
@pip, good pickup, I had sleep studies December, the technition said theres a deprea of SA (not severe) that I do need to talk to my Dr about after seeing him. I've put it off so I can legally make this trip as the diagnosis will restrict my licence. I fall asleep through the day when I lay down for a kip when I try post here and keep falling g asleep. I've overdone it as living on my own has far less troubling interactions, jobs, concerns etc. Not use to it, plus its hot and the trip down I pushed too hard. Past nursing shift work taught me how to do that, but I'm older.
@TAB thanks for being my protective forum big bro, i understand Dec, shes ok. Hey, was thinking of you today when i checked my car oil (kept forgetting to before), it was just over 1/2 so put 500ml in. To make a funnel I cut a plastic drink bottle in half.
My aunt is another 3hrs Sth (her hubby died) so I'm debating visiting her to take flowers before heading back. Not sure if I'm up to that. I'm feeling washed out. Bro3 was here crying g about MH and the CTO injections due this week. He's so unhappy and arguementative and moody and unwell... drains you
Gotta go get tea, mums still not well
@Decadian, thanks hugz

Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @TAB
Yes - after all these years @Former-Member and I have been yakking to each other we have learned that we have similar things in our lives - eg - we live alone, we are bereaved mothers, we come from dysfunctional families - so we do know each other from speaking-time
Not only that - we are women - and not to denigrate anyone male or female (or anything else they might be) - women connect with each other differently that we do with men - or the way men communicate -
There are some people here that I feel as if I have known for years - I can hardly believe I have been in the Forum Family since last Easter - all that time!! - but yes
There is woman-to-woman speak as well as speaking-time - and then add on the natural understanding people have when they have lived through similar experiences

Re: Sleeping too much
hello @Former-Member
quick response not feeling best at moment. not your concern though. you have enough on your plate.
I think that message back from your sister was encouraging, probably difficult for her if she is not used to accepting what is and moving on.
Excellent for you to have made the first approach and perhaps that is all she needed.
I do hope goes well, sounds like you have made headway with all of your family. Feel for your brothers, they would appreciate seeing you also.
mum's and dad's are just that, some like to stay in charge of their brood. some grumble without realising thhat they do it is a part of them. i think that they were happy you were there too.
safe travelling back and as others have said take care of Tawney. I know only too well and too late so easy to put self last when you are a giver.
please drive carefully and have many rest stops xxx
will be thinking of you on your remembrance day. xxx

Re: Sleeping too much
@Decadian, sorry about my mix up cut&paste post, still trying to work out how to delete & edit mistakes. How are you? Any tips for sciatica pain? xox
@Appleblossom, good to see you, I was so excited to see you Herr that my heart skipped a beat - great to have you back. You've done well xox

@Shaz51, hiya! you well?
@Faith-and-Hope, where you at this week? Literally. WH burnt out yet? Thinking of you too xox
@Zoe7, been looking for you, you OK?
@Former-Member, one day at a time, hugz4U xox
@utopia, thanks for touching base, you'd love my mums garden. Any new birds around lately?
@Former-Member, hi, whatcha up to?
Hi @Former-Member & everyone
I'm procrastinating on mopping etc, just run out of energy & so much STUFF here (yes worse than my place). Its frightening to see so many of my mums annoying traits surfacing in myself. Ever heard the saying 'OMG I've turned into my mother!" LOL! Hopefully a bit of dads placidity too, to balance things.
Had DVA nurse here yesterday sorting dads bed out. Embarrassing - the dust. Mums cranky with me for 'blabbing' how unwell mum is (as his carer)_ mum fears they'll get guardianship board to take over & put them in nursing homem... and Bro3 sided with mum attacking me for telling them too much (he's head is bursting with paranoid gov conspiracies that want to destroy the family), wore me out yesterday. Can't believe I trusted him with my laptop grr Bro3 & Mar think theyre Gov spies coming into her home & noted the RN took writted notes while here. Cant convince her theyre here to help them stay in their home as long as possible. At least the nurse talked mum into getting DVA help to mop floors "while you're so unwel"l she said.
Taking dad & lunch to visit his sister 45min away today (hasn't been since the last time I was down), do betta get onto that. So tired, but kinda OK
Betta run...

Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @Former-Member
As far as the sciatica goes - you can use heat rather than cold and put it high up behind your hip where the nerve leaves the spinal cord - and as hot as is sensibile - careful not to burn your skin
However - I think a trip to your doctor when you get home would be a good idea - there is medication for nerve pain - I don't use it myself but from those who have it has been useful - but you need a script
Perhaps you are doing too much physical work where you are with your parents right now - I don't want to write another satirical post about the situation but it sounds horrific and to me it sounds as if you are pouring your energy into a bottomless pit and it is not appreciated at all
Sure - I get it that your parents are afraid they will be put into a nursing home - but there are better places than that before they get there and I should know - they will keep your parents in their own home for as long as possible and as long as they want to - but the people who organised Aged Care Support and Disability Support - to know about the situation
Gee Tawney - you are in such a tough spot. I couldn't do it - well I could have cared for my father had that been necessary but my mother was really nasty and as a woman in my late 60s/early 70s I could not and would not tolerate her mouth any more
I really feel for you - you are there to help your parents and they are treating you so badly - I doubt you can walk away leaving them - my TS was always present just wanting everything her way so I could walk away from the situation - but I did care - it wasn't as case that I didn't care
But people - even our parents - need to earn our respect - and I hope you are finding ways of protecting yourself
Hugs Tawney - gee - how I care about you

Re: Sleeping too much
@Decadian, mum might have a heat pack, its not all that bad here - i haven't even done the floors yet, mum stresses when I move things to clean, i can't handle it, so avoid conflict, mostly cooking - kitchen jobs, laundry & transport. Took dad to visit his sister today 12-5pm. I just put dinner on (beef stroganoff). Maybe I'm just use to the stress now. Mar hasn't gone off at me today. She wouldn't come with us to visit dads sister. Suffers severe anxiety in traffic (her mum died in car crash).
My cousin just got back from US this AM so want to visit her tomorrow for M/T with mum and dad & delay going home another day.
I tx my sis that i'm not leaving till Thur now & MT or B'fast then would be good (my sis lives 1hr Nth of Sydney so its easier to see her on the way home), this was her tx response:
"Hi, Wont be able to catch up Thur as it's Phil's B'day & we've already planned the whole day out. Anyway stay cool & have a safe trip home :)x"
All very 'sweet' - i dont have a hubbu, its also the anniversary of my girls passing, I guess I messed her around all week, my fault - just trying to fit too much in. But the other facts are - I HAVE been here a whole week and mums been so ill - sis & hubby could have come here. Just not meant to be & for a change i dont really care. MumDad& Cuz thinks I'm lucky she's at least answering my tx now, hmm. Could be anyone typing but yes, fabulous! hmm. I don't care, tired.
Yum, dinner smells good, better go serve up.
