Re: Sleeping too much
Hello @Former-Member and all
it means a lot to me that you were touched by my words.
Very brave of you bearing your deep thoughts too. Thank you and I have the greatest respect for both you and your son.
i sense the depth of your love for your son and the anguish with his responses. As the others have said some of it is just male (venus and mars) stuff. some of it is definitely lived experience.
He as well as you has been through so much. You are very strong, he is too. He is dealing with it in his way at this triggering time as you are.
i think that when the wind blows you will both find calm after. Both even stronger. Every new life experience gives us more strength.

Hiya @Former-Member,
just dropping in to say hi and I feel your inner turmoil at the moment. I'm glad the procedures went ok but can see you are finding it hard to juggle all the things going on in your head. Maybe you can just postpone seeing your son rather than cancel it. You have had a lot of emotional turmoil of late. Go easy on yourself, I know it's easier said than done once on the roller coaster but I have faith you'll get back to the new emerging TAWNEY soon with lots of self compassion and self care.
Sending hugs💜🤗
hi @Former-Member hope you are doing ok too💜🤗

Re: Sleeping too much
@Former-Member, your son's the same age and away too and moody plus the MI... I know you understand, appreciate it that you post, keep at it, but look after you too. Tell me what your plans are for w'end?
@Decadian, you take the other approach the S1 should be more respectful. Thanks, I agree and think he needed to learn it from his dad or some adult male but I'm surrounded by men who don't respect women. Guess S1 is better than any of them when I see how is treats his partner. He is sensitive usually.
@Former-Member, been meaning to catch up with you, got so out of touch and know something was really pressing on your mind, but you addressed it in therapy a bit today which brings some hope. Am I right? Thats good. How's you baby dragons? How many you have living there now? Chin up, thinking of you.
@Faith-and-Hope, how are you? I'll check you thread after this, i had asked S1 before if it would work better for me to come visit after he moves. So when i tx today i wasnt feeling up to the trip he said its better next month really as hes flat hunting & packing this w'end... I really do feel like a bother to him (doesnt know how to be around me) but maybe he's just still growing up. It is a hard time for him atm poor dear. I'm so tired its helping me not be so stressed.
@TAB you surprised me with your level of empathy here yesterday - when I was somewhat dark thank you,, means a lot. Ssorry about your ear - hope the drops work quickly. Did you pass your medical?
My day was OK, lost it really (can't remember) but studied all the courses on offer with U3A and chose a few. Art, Craft, writing, choir(maybe, are you reading this @Appleblossom ?), Discussion gp. Talk more about U3A another time - really tired and need to sleep re have a shift tomorrow.
Night guys xox

Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @Former-Member
Yes - you son does need to treat you with more respect - but knowing the history of the men in your family I know it's you who has to do this
You have to insist on it at the risk of annoying him intensely but it does give you and him choices of either him changing his attitude and respecting the person who gave him life after all - or turning his back on you
And for you - this risk of him doing this - but then at least the situation between the two of you is open and honest -
I have done this with dd - sometimes making mistakes true - but then - so has she - more than she knows
Surviving children do have this problem - perhaps they think they mean less to us because they are not the one who died - but they could not be further from the truth
The surviving children are worth so much more - we know the price of having children and how terribly it is when they die - and what a terrible that price is
It's also a terrible price to be a surviving child - I did not see this before but yes - it is
But try and hold a handful of hand in a clenched fist - not much can remain when you open your hand
But hold the sand on a hope palm - and there you are - without pressure it can stay there
But how do we learn this? Ah yes - with time, with trial and error and with keeping love in our heart
Hugs - Dec
