Re: Sleeping too much
hello @Former-Member @TAB @Decadian @Shaz51 @Faith-and-Hope
oh good grief you have no idea how much energy that takes to do the @@@@@@@@
but you are all worth it so just ignore my moaning.
tawney the conversation running commentary between yourself and son was brilliant.
I know that it would not have been pleasant at the time.
It just brings back memories of so many times where i was put in my place by my older son no matter how carefully i trod on eggshells.
it was never the correct response for his comment at the time.
in the latter days I was told "Now dont interrupt, this is urgent are you listening???" as if i would interrupt in the first place. i spent minutes hanging on to every word trying to make sense and put it all together to get the drift of what he was trying to tell me. when his stuttering was bad, which it was the last phone call indicating extreme anxiety, i just could not understand even though i let him finish before speaking.
so whatever i said, or however i responded, words, tone, etc I was wrong.
Your son is going through a bad time, break-up after 5years is very difficult.
I think also they get so used to us listening to their every word, being there for them that they dont stop and think about how they are responding to us as they would with someone outside of the family.
When my son was detained in hospital on one of my visits he wanted me to go with him to a store because he wanted to buy two of the patients in there gifts. You should have seen their faces when he gave them to them. He told me that he really felt for them and everything that they had been through. This was a period after he had been medicated. This is the hardest part in all of this. He has such a beautiful, generous soul.
so whilst i laughed, remember laughing and crying are so close, a release of the pressure valve.
I totally empathise and think you should get a gold star for your response.
I do hope you are starting to feel better in yourself physically and am also thinking of you during this period.
you have many friends on here tawney and we are your friends, whilst i have not known you as long as others, i sense your loving soul and that is a credit to who you are.
you are a courageous, strong, loving young woman. stand proud
ggh xxxxx

Re: Sleeping too much
❤️ @Former-Member .... don't take it personally re your son .... my S1 seems to be similar in nature .... and mine has DIL issues to work around every day .... yours is going through a break up (huge deal) and a new job (huge deal) and probably affected by dates too ....
You caught him at a frustrated grumpy angle for a moment .... he loves you and will appreciate what you have said about him being all grown up (which he is obviously needing to be validated over) and being his mum who does and always will, love him to bits ..... he will take on board what you have said, but as @TAB confirmed so well, in the more black-and-White terms that the male of the species seem to prefer, there was no need for a response to what you said .... it just is .... his "thanks mum" is in his heart, and in his on-going relationship with you.
Hugs @Former-Member .... sending you love .... ❤️💕

Re: Sleeping too much
@TAB, u can have a cyber ice block with me any time. Here, its more 'crapola thinking' Tab. I be ok if don't act on it. Your ear, sounds like an outer ear canal infection, best have it looked at. In the mean time - get into vit-c, lots
Hi @Former-Member, sorry I'm too lazy to always @@@@@@@@ people like you. Figure those who are meant to read it will.
With my son, walking on eggshells all right!! My son's always snapping at me for interrupting him too. I hope his depression doesn't get worse under this stress but unfortunately its the nature od blackdog - not coping well. I just hope he stays away from drugs with all the drug related psychosis in the family.
Yes, I always have made allowances for my son's hardships (not obvious to most but heartbreaking for me alone in grief), 7yrs uni exam & assignments, parents divorced 2004, his high school friend murdering his brother & fav teacher arrested for helping dispose body 2008, Glandular fever 2010, losing his sister 2011, my suicidal breakdown 2011, academic probation & maj depression 2011, his sick selfish old dad...
But what can I do to change any of it? I just want out sometimes myself.
I hope you're right about them showing us their worst side but now I wonder if girlfriend breakup is due to his sometimes 'hardline' controlling obcessive attitudes (I'd never say that if not anonymous).
My heart breaks to hear about your son, so lost with MH issues but a beautiful soul. That's half the problem as their mums, we know their heart and they'd rather we didn't ( I suspect ).
Thanks for your'e empathy, re my son, and for pos feedback on my responses to my son. Its hard for me to know if I get it right or not.
I am feelling better physically thank you, except for the dreadful heat. Thank goodness for fridges and water.
You said: "I sense your loving soul and that is a credit to who you are. You are a courageous, strong, loving young woman. stand proud" wowowowow!
Thank you Mohill, I feel the same of you. And many here. Sure helps stop grumpy. xox
