Re: Sleeping too much
Mohill, You were saying your Dr gives a blank look and changes the subject. Well, I've come to learn that that's they're way of saying.
"I hear you but I can't be bothered trying to explain it, and all its complexities that will just confuse and worry you more. I'm hopeless at communicating. Lets just move on because its not serious, and I don't have the time or energy today..."
But I might be wrong lol

Re: Sleeping too much
Joy, friendship, community, communication, and the ability to survive the harshest conditions.
Definately a CHANGE for me @utopia, in relation to finally being able to emotionally disconnect from toxic people in my life - without guilt. Also interesting what you say about the Chinese Year of the Roostet Jan28 (day at after losing my girl), a new year of Change and Growth. Yep, a year for all of us to leave behind old baggage, distqnce drom unsupporting people, build new xonbections, skills, hoppies and joy. Sorry youve been stung by bee twice, ouch!! Bees about late at night is odd, they usually HOME at night, they may have been disturbed. Hope you don't have a swarm settling in a 'bad' place close ro or in rhe gouse :(. Look around, Best call in the beekeeper, good luck! AARRGGHH!!!!!
@Faith-and-Hope,

Yes!!!! @Former-Member
This must be your New Years Resolution this year - sounds like a good one - leave behind all the old baggage- at least the bits we don't need, want or enjoy - and disconnect from toxic people - without guilt
It sounds like a good aim- of course I have a little story about New Year Resolutions - many years ago I decided not to make changes just because of new year and guess what - it's still working
But yes - ditch the guilt and the baggage and the toxic people and build up relationships with the people who are important to you. I just read back on that - you want to emotionally disconnect - that's harder
My therapist told me something interesting yesterday. I told her I had spent too much time thinking about TS - enough time spent doing that - but she told me that she is my sister and I have wonderful memories about our life when she was too young to remember - and she asked me if I love her - and I didn't even think -of course I love her - but like her - no! and I detest a lot of her behaviour - but if TS wanted to play nice she could find a person who would love her - even as she is - but not how cruel her behaviour is -
But it would be honest
Thinking of your with your time of change - I know your parents are ill and your brothers have poor health in different ways and your sis is uppity - whatever
So we need to be in charge of our emotions yeah - I am thinking a lot about that

Re: Sleeping too much
@Decadian. You said you love TS, but you don't like her.
This is how I felt about my dad. I loved him. But I didn't like his behaviour, his sexism, his morals. But he's my dad. He's family. And I would have done anything to help him.
I guess that is what family and friends means.
We may not like their behaviour, but we would come to their rescue if they needed it.
But until they need the help - sometimes it's best to love them from afar.

Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @utopia
All that stuff they say about family - blood is thicker than water - you can choose your friends but not your family etc - they are all so true
But family can hold grudges and fight with each other about trivia or feud forever about the ridiculous - so ridiculous -
Families can be an ants' nest of hostility that can cross the generations
But if TS needed me I would be there - but for her the studidity of her high stakes on her not being in need of anyone really stumps me - and she will trip me up because my mind doesn't go to the places my mind doesn't understand
Which tells me that she might be spending more time thinking about building conversational traps and less time caring than I do - because I do not set out to annoy her but she can't push me around either
But yes - for now I will love her from afar - and after thinking about TS for weeks and not ringing Life Line about her I was so glad to unload to my therapist and she understood and did not cut me short - we talked about two items for a long time
Like you - I would help in anyway I can - but it's safer to live in the next Post Code and see her rarely - but I think now it is really sad - for you and your Dad and for me and my sister
Loving people from a distance is caring for ourselves and loving ourselves too - if we love someone who loves to cause us verbal anguish or whatever - we deserve to give that love to ourselves as well

Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @Former-Member
Consider prayers for your back pain said - I know what that can feel like
About TS - I am standing in the need of pTherayer - I forgave her a long time ago - something she thinks she doesn't need - forgiveness - but she has a deep flaw within her - and unless she tells me about whatever it is that bugs her in such a way I can respond - I can forgive but honestly - what on earth am I forgiving?
Bad behaviour - when she was just a small child and I am several years older but still a child myself - I knocked her over when we were playing - and her refusal to let me "kiss it better" nearly broke my heart. Our mother came out and told me that I had hurt her and now she would never forgive me - and she never has - though I am sure she has forgotten that incident
The Gospels tell us to forgive - and not to count - even if we could be bothered counting someone's sin against us 490 times - I am not at all sure what sin is - but then - we are also told not to throw our pearls befor the swine - not sure about the nature of the pearls or who the swine are but oysters grow pearls because of irritation and I could go on and on about it - but yeah - who would take their jewellery out to the pig-pen?
So I am an Anglican and I like the General Confession because I have done things I should not have and I have not done everything I should have and I like to accept the absolution also - because the whole nature of forgiveness is so complicated
But what if someone doesn't want to be forgiven - we are all standing in the need of prayer
I think I love my sister and care about her a great deal - but I cannot trust her either. I could let it all go very quickly and easily - I want to - but this woman has caused me so much trouble since we were children I can't trust her - and this is a terrible sadness for me
You go to bed now - no need to answer - and sleep well
