Re: Sleeping too much
That's brilliant @Former-Member. Other than all the forms,, you must be happy with how the day went.
I bet the boss loved you. It sounds like a perfect job for you. Staff discounts - always a bonus. And a supportive boss and her dog. lol. Well done.
You must be exhausted, but ready for tomorrow.

Re: Sleeping too much
Thanks @Former-Member. Ive changed the picture. This is the third and final one.
I spent ages trying to figure out how to download my own photo. And then when I saw it in the post, it didn't look right.
So I've stolen / borrowed this image from the wonderful Web. lol.
At least it's still a cockie. I call them my brothers. We have so many here in Country Victoria, and especially up on my Mountain. I find it easy to meditate when they are around. When I first went to a meditation class in a building, I found it so quiet and strange, but then a cockie came and sat on a tree outside the window, and started up his screeching. I was able to relax and meditate then. lol. I guess it's what you are used to.
Well done on your first day and getting all those forms filled in. lol.

@utopia, I have a spiritual kind of connection with the birds around me too. Wander what symbology meaning of cockatoo is? My sons into the meaning behind our cisiters. Wish I could fly 🙂

Re: Sleeping too much
SYMBOLISM OF THE COCKATOO
I live at the foot of a mountain, and the sound of the cockatoo means change is coming. They come down from the mountain when the weather gets too wild and hang out in the eucalypts in our backyard.
They are absolute characters to watch. They will hang upside down and drink from the gutters, playing games, daring each other to do the next funny thing. They really have a sense of entertainment! They bring us so much joy to watch.
The cockatoo is a member of the parrot family. They hang out in large ‘gangs’ or family groups, and communicate using bobs of the head, squawks, and the movement of that wonderful sulphur crest. Not all cockies have this crest though - the large black and red cockatoos we also have a crestless, although they still communicate using very obvious body language. It is a very funny dance that they do! They are affectionate birds, and mate for life.
In captivity, the cockatoo can be taught to mimic so very many sounds. They are intelligent and inquisitive. Taking the lids of jars is easy! They bond strongly with their owner and can live for many years.
The cockatoo is a symbol of change, and light and the end of a tunnel. Communication is a gift of the cockatoo - making oneself understood, understanding the communication of others, and being heard. You should hear the loud cry of the cockie!
Joy, friendship, community, communication, and the ability to survive the harshest conditions is the medicine of the cockatoo.

Re: Sleeping too much
Thank you @Former-Member. That is beautiful.
Yes it appears all the symbols seem to be pointing to CHANGE. Which I'm glad about.
2017 is meant to be a year for change as well
And the Chinese Year of the Rooster, which I think starts on the 28th of January, is also a year of Change and Growth.
So I think this is a year for all of us. To help us drop some of our old baggage. Delete a few people from our lives, who are no longer supporting us, and create new friendships and hobbies and dreams.
Bugger. I just went outside for a cigarette and stepped on a bee. Right at the bottom of my big toe.
Not only was the sting still in the toe, but the bee was still attatched underneath. Bloody buggers.
This is the second time in a week I have been stung. Other than that, it's been years. I can't wait for my huge tree to stop flowering, so they will go away.
It's after 11pm and dark and yet I have bees swarming around my back door light. AARRGGHH!!!!!

Re: Sleeping too much
I borrowed my mums computer for the night to do the online OH&S modules for this job. But the site is down - so I thought it was a perfect time to download a picture/avatar.
How are things in your part of the world?
I hope the family are having a great time & you are able to relax.
