Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @Shaz51
Not much is happening - New Year was quiet - and I am trying to remember when I spoke to someone last - I think it was Friday and this is Monday - this is still a holiday but the shops are open so I will be taking a walk up there later and have a chat with someone there - but I am comfortable enough without a lot of conversation
I saw all three episodes of Queen Victoria's Children last night - I already have recordings of the three episodes but they ran all three and they had bits of commentary and photos I had not seen before
She was quite the tryant - oh boy - I am glad she wasn't my mother
Is your husband still sleeping most of the day - I suppose that's a way for him to pass the time and maybe that time is peaceful for you - but still - that's not really company
I wish you a Happy New Year if I did not wish that to you yesterday -

Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @Former-Member
I'm still reading the book - it would be better if I was not inclined to fall asleep in the afternoon but I do sometimes - my pain specialist says I should lie down for an hour each day - but not sleep - hard to follow that one
Ah - when it comes to reading it is hard to know what to suggest - I have a lot of novels I had at University - I still prefer the classics - modern novels are not that interesting to me - Australia's rebellion against the arts did not enhance the literature much - imo - I agonised over some of the novels I had to read - where was one allusion to classical literature -
Well - there was one good book I read - I bought it - I went into Melbourne and bought it especially after watching the movie - Along the Rabbit Proof Fence. Very good survival story - very good name too - the division of white Australia's and Indigneous Australians - other people here might like to read that too
It's the true story of Molly Craig who was taken from her aboginal home into the White Settlement of Moore River where she and her little sister and cousin were supposed to be trained as domestic workers and they escaped - she walked back to her home through mostly desert carrying her little sister but her cousin didn't like the hardship and never made the journey. That's all I am saying - but yes - it's not a big read and will keep you interested
So your girl died in January 2011 - nearly 6 years - that's when my father died - on the 14th. My mother died on the 8th January 2015 - like almost 4 years to the day - but the death of my parents in old age has seemed part of the normal way of the world - like you - the death of my child has been so much harder to deal with
And I am glad your son likes living in the country - either near you or with you as the mood takes him I guess - I am wondering about the "separation" between him and his girlfriend - interesting little story - maybe he is growing up
I wish you the best with him - life's events change us - let's hope that eventually they will always be for the better
Hugs - Dec

Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @Shaz51
I hate a pain in the stomach - I have to lie down with one of those - often it is part of my back ache - there are times when Icannot get a hot pack and lie down quickly enough
Is it your husband's MI that makes him sleep all the time or is it his medication? I know he is not looking forward to going back to work - will he be up to it when the time comes - after all - work does fill in the day when life is miserable for people -
And I know you are semi-retired now - does he have a hobby yet - I am thinking that he doesn't. It's just my mind but I think we have to find our own hobbies and suggesting something doesn't help at all - we all need passtimes of some kind
My ex-husband would sit and read - and that was all he really wanted to do - except gardening - which he was good at - but he was silent and morose - and not at all interested in chatting or going out. I think he was really depressed and I have an idea this did not change with his second marriage
Anyway - I am glad you like my posts -

Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @Decadian xx'
Hubby says it is his medication that is making him tired xx
semi-retired now --- ha ha I don`t think soo, one minute he says we need more work , next minute he wants to keep the same amount as last year , sometimes he wants less
his hobby is photography, but he has lost a lo of interest in it at the moment
but I am not pushing him anymore , getting tired , there is things that need doing around the house and at my mum`s but he doesn`t seem interested in do them
My SIL who tell you what you should do ( she has Mi as well ) but she has not got a job but she keeps herself very busy all day and she does lots of jobs at MIL`s house too
well she tells me to keep busy like her -- I am starting to see what she means , only thing is i can`t drive , that changes a lot of things xx
but hubby get a bit cranky , and he dislikes his sister , and tells me to stop pushing him
oh well, he has just changed the blands on the mower , and told me he his having dizzy spells
