Sleeping too much

I'm glad I'm not the only one who can see it!! Thanks for liking it. It's been over 10 years in my head and only 3 days to put on canvas.

I have always had a keen interest in history - suppose that's why I was initially a history teacher!

The holocaust was my special are of interest - I think because in a very small way I could relate to the pain, injustice, power, control and not knowing whether you would live or die.

Did visit the Mathausen concentration camp site in Austria when I was there. The silence is 'deafening'. Very quiet - not even a bird can be heard - sad, emotional, unbelievable. Did put life into perspective for awhile.

The colours and butterflies really represent me - feeling like I have been trapped in a cacoon for most of my life (and the world around is out of focus) and that one day I will break free and fly (even if it's only for a short time).

I visited a concentration camp on the way to Greece, I forget which. They have become symbolic for many things. I have often been friends with jewish people .. we can relate about grief .. but then also friends with Germans. Ze Dutchness is close to Deutchness in many ways.

yeah weird, picking through stuff used to be fair game @Former-Member now they moan if take stuff from the footpath cos somehow its council property already ..try not to let it bother you

ha the customers want us to come back next year , there goes cutting back I think !!!!

That person was just venting @Former-Member .. by spotting you and taking you to task .. but I bet she loved the TV show by a producer .. not saying who .. who was addicted to hard rubbish collections .. lol ..

Recently I had a joke at the council's expense ..a couple of us were laughing about how many big machines and men in vests standing around talking .. were needed to do a few odd jobs .... in my garden where I have pottered for years ...

well I mentioned it on the phone and the council got worried and sent out a person to interview me why I wasnt happy with council .. I was reasonably happy with council .. but it just went to prove that all the class clown tradie types .. dont really have good senses of humour when they are the butt. They were all earnest and concerned .. an attitude I (or sis and bro) were mocked with .. cant you lighten up .. well I did ..

I was very late to a sense of humour .. so I am taking the mickey when I see something funny according to my sights. I am not mean about it .. but the reaction happens every time .. I can laugh at mens' jokes to be nice & polite etc... too.
