Wow - you go offline for a while and step out into the 'real world' and so much happens.

Had about 7 hours sleep last night - not all the way through - woke up a few times - but more than I've had combined for the last few days - yeeeeeeeah!!!!!

Been out to do some Christmas shopping - got ONE present - at least I've started!

Too much to reply to individually so I'll leave you with my philosophy for today:

Be true to yourself, allow the negativity to wash over you - acknowledge it, respond, then move on - the only comments that matter are the ones you say to yourself - be kind to yourself, believe in yourself, live in the moment, deal with the past when you can, don't look too far into the future until you are ready to move there! Allow yourself to breath, experience and give yourself permission to LIVE.

Re: Sleeping too much

Thanks
@Decadian, one day at a time, I love your messages, you put so much into it.
@PeppiPatty, keep joy in your heart.
@Appleblossom, you ok, kinda? missed ya and appreciate all the likes along the way. Stay strong my musical friend 🙂
@Former-Member, yes, as @TAB said (my forum brother) "my eyes my eyes" - great pic thanks - pretty much describes how I feel. How's today going? Any soul feeding activity to get into? I must for my own sanity. @darrenhayes - what u doing today? @Moghill, how's your son? And your health - do take care.
@TAB, my forum brother, dont let that landlord pull wool over your eyes. And yes @Zoe7 - more time to clean up. @PurpleFlowers, you doing ok? How's your weekend going? Just realised I don't know you very well, must catch up.
@Shaz51, you travelling ok, and hubby? give up sugar and refined foods.
@Faith-and-Hope - i'm still pondering the impact how it is for you being amongst people who "don't see you" - how lonelu for you, i so wish I was hiding in your duitcase for when you need a friend - well, tucked away on the forums here for each other at least - this is pretty good too. Can't wait to see / hear how Chrissy is in Greece. @Former-Member please do something christmassy with your kids before Christmas - this is where Self Compassion really helps - its OK to put yourself first, to look after you too. You're not deliberately taking from anyone and you know what - it will be good for the children facing Christmas day without their mum, to be able to picture in their mind you've already done it and "mum was happy being with us" but well still call her... Its hard to not be a martyr with blackdog and low energy, but just a little something special - for them, and for you, your inner child. Please dooooo come chat here over the next week, wortied about you - I'll try looking for you too. I still get lost here on the forums but do try to keep up with this thread at least, especially when tired.
Where's @sadgirl, @Former-Member, and those who've left.
And @anyone-i-cant-recall-just-now, stay strong for you. Read lots of affirmations and stay grounded. xox

Re: Sleeping too much

@Former-Member thanks - glad I'm here too! I do have a good dose of 'Post Viral Fatigue' as well as the MH issues. It's certainly easier to explain my absence from work, and my general lack of energy etc. having this diagnosis to explain. Much harder to let others into the struggle with MI - sure most at work would be understanding and supportive, but don't trust them enough to let themin. My Principal knows - and has been very supportive and I trust her professionalism enough to keep it all confidential untilI I am ready (if ever) to disclose to others.

It did take a few weeks for my GP to understand exactly how bad I was falling. She was not my usual GP (who was on sick leave) and didn't know me or my history - so only had to go on blood tests and what I was telling her (which wasn't much). Also the first contact I had with her was very brief as I was so unwell that she called an ambulance to rush me to hospital. Several weeks of being bed ridden from flu and post-viral fatigue. The more time that passed, and I was unable to return to work, the lower my mood also got. So the physical frailty and the mental capacity to cope collided and I hit the bottom of the well!

Still have regular blood tests - last ones showed significant improvements in all levels - so the physical side of me (other than from the consequences of MI) are slowly improving. Need to continue to focus on sorting out how to deal with my 'head' to be able to accelerate the healing - but I'm going to do this in my own time - with no pressure or expectations!

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Zoe7

I like your attitude about sorting .. "what is going in my head" .. makes me smile and feel normal .. lol

Oh @Former-Member Yeah I'm alright .. kinda .. lol

spent the morning cleaning rather than going into church ..

.. I know I can be bit flakey .. as I am always managing lots of feelings AND lots of thoughts etc .. but my conscious mind seems to be ... hope springs eternal .. and then I feel like rolling my eyes at myself .. when will she ever learn .. lol

I am learning a lot from watching the Alan Robarge videos. How I kept my personal sense of confidence despite the massive lack and degree of attachment trauma that I endured. Seeing how my issues with intrusion, obssession and looping thoughts were formed. I cant believe that I actually said "yes" to taking on the baby and tried to make a loving family out of so much dysfunction. Even my daughter at about 12 said I was trying the impossible .. so I am finally figuring how "addicted to love" I have been .. regardless of loyalty and affection of the people around me ...

What are either of you doing today?

Re: Sleeping too much

.oh.. just quickly re weight @Former-Member .. I was never overweight til mid twenties but mostly never looked back. One school holidays spent 2 weeks eating fresh home made biscuits all day every day. Older brother who couldnt stand anyway would tease me constantly this was grade 5 maybe, it burnt off after a year or so but the damage was done I guess ..he never really had any friends, but when the few times he did have an audience I would want to be involved and just become the 'sport' .. fatcake.. argh .. oh well that was along long time ago ..

@Appleblossom

I'm having one of my 'good' days.

Done some shopping

Washing from two days ago finally hung out - new load on.

Picked things up off the floor (mostly my dog's toys - he has heaps)

Haven't quite managed the washing up yet but at least it's all stacked and ready.

Eaten - two days in a row (wow)

Watching the cricket (kinda - on in the background anyway - bit boring - but there is background noise that I don't have to concentrate on)

Might even do some painting later - have room now dog's toys picked up!!!

How's your day been?
