But at least you get to use the :pile_of_poo: emoticon @TAB 😝😁. I am a bit of an 🍎 fan but it was more so when I was studying web design and using photoshop and other Adobe products. I don't think the gap is as wide now but I'm a bit of a pixel perfect geek, sad but true. My sons are finding there way to Samsung and eldest just purchased relatively cheap Motorola overseas and says it's the best phone he's owned.

Am seeing going 'off grid' at least not having me working for multinational conglomerates by owning their crapola.. and them making billions by reaping and re selling info.. think fb number 1 to go.. come on Linux get your shit together how hard can it be to be better than Microsoft or Apple o/s? Seriously...

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @PeppiPatty

I only joined a week ago (Mon actually). My dumb, dopey GP (and by that I actually mean amazing and supportive) hooked me up with the site and the from there the rest is history! The forum has been my outlet, and at times my lifeline, this week. Has helped me immensely - especially late at night when I can't sleep - gives me something to focus on so I don't stress about not sleeping.

Haven't really shared much about me so far - just that I got really sick with Influenza, spiralled down-hill from there and how I'm struggling through - probably because I'm very guarded and mistrusting. Definitely don't feel like that here so here goes:

Have been off work for 3 months - influenza A and B, then post-viral fatigue and depression returned. Hit rock bottom about two months ago - MDD, GAD, complex PTSD and SI.

Started seeing psychologist and unlocked a lot of sh*t - still struggling with this - too much to deal with.

GP and Psychologist are amazing - very supportive, very available and very caring - could not ask for anymore from them - if I need them, they're there! See them each 2 or three times a week. I know this isn't the experience of a lot of others and I also know I wouldn't still be here if it wasn't for them. Don't have any other supports - not trusting anyone is a major stumbling block.

Concerned about the two weeks they are away over Christmas - so this forum has been a godsend. Do have numbers to get in contact with them if really needed but hoping I can get through without having to use them!!!

I also have a dog (a little white fluffy one) - he is my world and goes with me everywhere (my little shadow, my saviour).

Have a cat who puts up with (suffers in silence) the dog - really cute watching him follow her around and she just ignores him. Love them both dearly. They are definitely the reason I stuck around.

Primary teacher, animal lover, love to read, write, paint and am renovating my house - when I have the energy.

That's about me in a nutshell!!!

xxxxx

Re: Sleeping too much

Pleased to meet you more fully @Zoe7 ....

I have migrated from the Carer's forum .... hubby in denial with an undiagnosed eating disorder .... throws chaos all over our family life and has caused ongoing struggles with situational depression and anxiety.

There is a relationship between the two forums as some are self-carers of their own mi circumstances, and there are others with mi caring for spouses, kids, or other family members with mi also ....

EDV put me into the forums, and it's been a real Godsebd for me .... was having trouble sleeping when I first came on, and found good 24/7 company on Night Shift.
Just having a voice meant so much .... and yeah, being careful about anonymity means I have put so much out here that I have to kee under wraps in my outer circumstances, at least for now.

Re: Sleeping too much

Dear @Zoe7

Are you working or do you think that you might get back to work one day?

At least your being realistic and your caring for yourself by visiting your Gp and a Psychologist.

If you didn't get diagnosed and if you was doing what your doing before getting diagnosed, you would be getting sicker and sicker.....but your being upfront and honest.

It took me years to get to where you are. I trusted the wrong type of people until about 5 years ago maybe 6 when I met my now husband.

And I'm 49 years old.

But Im incredible proud of myself in that my sons are managing their lives and my husband and I live in a safe home.

Sorry, I gotta go sleepy bye ......but hope to talk tomorrow

Re: Sleeping too much

@PeppiPatty

At this stage hoping to get back to work some time next year - maybe only part-time. Neither Gp or psych think I'll be back straight away(or me) and definitely won't cope with full-time. Actually taken me quite some time to get where I am at the moment - lots of years of denial and pushing it all aside. If I hadn't got sick would probably still be living day to day and feeling like a failure everyday. Probably the best thing that could have happened to hopefully start putting myself back together and living some kind of meaningful life. I know it's going to take a long time but knowing that GP and psych are in my corner for the long haul and taking the journey with me, I may actually get there one day.

I'm 46 and have 30+ years of (multiple) traumas to reconcile.

Sleep well, talk tomorrow xxx
