Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @Former-Member ... 🌷💕
Hi @Former-Member
When I have been in an overwhelmingly trashed state, I have created small oases of tidiness and beauty in corners of the house.
This achieves a few things ....
It creates a space that is heart-warming for YOU ...
It shows your INTENT for the whole space, and any sensible visitor will note that, and empathise with you over how much there still is to do.
It becomes easier to ADD TO THE OASES .... make a corner of the bathroom really pretty, with a tiny bowl of soap or something. Add a glassful of flowers when you know someone is coming .... op shops sometimes have an odd beautiful drinking glass or three .... Add a fresh hand-towel..... add something else progressively across months, like a toilet roll basket or holder .... and you can dump whatever loos crap you like into a pretty dirty-wash basket at a moment's notice, and fish it all out again once your visitors have gone.
Keep the kitchen table as a tidy space .... op-shop basket to dump paper-work in at a moment's notice.
My mum used to spread a clean tea-towel over a pile of dirty dishes on the sink if we had anyone turn up unexpectedly.
Throw the bed together in the morning, so the bedroom looks decent for YOU and any drop-ins ... can keep a "dirty" wash basket in there to dump into at a moment's notice .... in fact you can keep them in any room of the house .... shoe basket at the front or back door .... a cup for pens somewhere by the phone ...
Stack clutter .... it looks neater that way ...
Fold anything foldable and pile it .... piles look neater ....
Hopefully you can begin to see the progress rather than how far you have to go.
Hugs, my girl ....
💐💗💕

Re: Sleeping too much
Those are some good ideas for @Former-Member - @Faith-and-Hope
I think I will gradually try more of these - I do keep stuff in a cupboard I keep sorting through after I have done a hasty tidy up - a bit at a time - that darn paper - it just keeps coming into the house and I am not counting the junk mail which I read at times
Yes - we would like a tidy house but tidy corners can get larger bit by bit until it's one whole wall

Re: Sleeping too much
Ya know, its weird thinking something's actually 'happening TO ME' - its really happening to everyone else. I'm only really battling isolation, depression & a couple of health issues. I can lay in bed day in & day out and nobody notices. People dream of doing that so i shouldn't complain but its killing me. Just make sure if do little stints I guess.
The dogs hovering but I can't remember if I fed him, thought I did, oh dear. There's biscuits still his bowl so he can't be that hungry. Forgot to mail off B'day parcel to my niece today 😞
See my psych next Tu but there's nothing she can do either. Wish I could book into a health farm or something for the company, structure and push. Such is life.
Got the loan from C'link to help with tyres and rego. 140month repayments but what can ya do? (no more op shops I guess lol)
Just want to say thanks, plodding along together on some level I guess. lvk

Re: Sleeping too much
Yeah - I get it @Former-Member - I could stay in bed all day and no one cares either - and people might dream of doing that but you and I know better - it might feel as if we are safe but for me anyway - it's bad news for my spine and I know it's okay to spend a lot of time alone - but thinking about it is weird - I remember last summer and watching old Episodes of The X Files and there were some new episodes and I wondered what I ever enjoyed 20 years ago - and that was last summer and I was eating salads out of my back yard every evening with whatever protein was available.
Where did a year go - all the evening eating my dinner alone and now I am getting the greens out of my back yard again
It's okay if it feels okay Tawnz - but if it doesn't feel okay then it's not okay - and you can complain. Just because some people dream of doing it doesn't mean we have to like it
I have you in my thoughts @Former-Member

I'm so impressed you're growing your own greens, wow! Must get onto that one myself. Well, drag myself out of bed, grab a cuppa I guess, you want one xox
