Re: Sleeping too much
Just had an asthma attack, which I hate, but under control. Must be the grass I was just pulling. I'm highly allergic to grass and dust mite re asthma. Such is life. Catch ya later 🙂

Noooo @TAWNEY. I've become aware I'm like my mum with my kids. I can see how much you are proving you are not like your mum. It appears that much of you understanding your mums behaviours and how destructive they are is fairly new. For me this phase has made me think about my relationship with my kids too. I guess I just thought it would for you too. There is definitely no judgement or finger pointing here at all. I just wanted to share my stuff but not come across as all high and mighty which I must have done. I really need you to read this bit and believe it. YOU ARE NOTHING LIKE YOUR MUM WITH YOUR SON.
And you are right @Former-Member. I don't live in the isolation you do. It would be very, very difficult but you have been amazing and will continue to be so in carving out the best life you can for you and I believe deep down that will have flow on affects with other relationships again. Look at how far we have both come since being on the forum. We are works in progress. This is a learning curve for all of us. Stay strong @Former-Member and please please don't think I judged you, I promise you I didn't. 💜🤗💐

Re: Sleeping too much
I agree with @Former-Member that you are nothing like your mother ... that is what makes you what I would call the "white sheep" in your "black sheep" family .... you are the one who had inherited the empathy / compassion gene .... and your family have milked that from you ....
You are right, I think, that your son still has so many barriers up that you can't share your core pain with him at the moment, because he is nursing his so deep and closed .... but there will come a time when it surfaces and he has to deal with it .... by then you should be so far along the healing path that you can show him the way out of his grief and despair when it catches up on him ....
Keep swimming @Former-Member .... 🐬🐬🐬 .... like a dolphin, powerful and strong .... we are our own pod over here ....
And @Former-Member .... you came across as you meant to .... loved what you shared .... and again when @Former-Member had that moment of self-doubt re her mum .... so glad you are working out your own pattern re your mum and you ....
Hugs y'all ..... 💜🤗💜🤗💜💐

Re: Sleeping too much
Having brownouts at the moment, a dry storm, trying to rain (explains my bones aching). Managed to potter in the garden a while today, tidy up a little, water the garden. Saw two of my yellow head parrots in the bird bath. Few too many spiders about atm, gotta watch where we put fingers. Got a load of washing done and fixed a few things.
So down on mysepfvi off get to the end of the day and wonder why I'm alive because I 'do nothing' (blackdog talk), so I started adding a column in my diary where I list everything I've achieved today, sometimes I surprise myself, and puts blackdog in its place. Even if I do one thing its still OK but my goal is to average 2hrs which is 12 x 20min jobs. My housework is still in 'catch up' mode - every job takes longer than it should. Hohum.
My neighbour has covered their front yard with Christmas lights, just everywhere. I still don't want to bother much, tempted to put up lights saying one word "DITTO" - underlined by an arrow pointing to my neighbours house lol

Hi @Former-Member
I love your idea of "ditto"
I have stopped doing any christmas decorations. From my point of view more non-believers are into decorations now ... than those who know or care about christianity. Thats ok. Maybe if I have grand kids or set up a big teaching studio again .. or maybe if I am just in the mood .. but I have not done any for 3 years now. Just sing at midnight mass, and feed son and I and give him a present. I have stopped contacting daughters. I have stopped doing hampers and soup van. I was embarrassed by my son noting new 4 wheel drives in the driveway when we delivered hampers. We discussed all these issues back then when he was in late teens. How some families are too selfish and entitled to plan finances and are fine to put a hand out .. I also got sick of cushy madams justifying so much middleclass welfare. I have done enough charity work over the years but I still keep my heart open for all the street people I pass. Unfortunately it is a growing affair in Melbourne. Some of them sit with their dogs. Homeless shelters wont let them keep their dogs and some of them prefer the company of their best friend and concrete. Last week one lady had a pusher for the dog to jump in and be comfy.
