Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @Former-Member, how are you? Any plans today? I'm having quiet one, accept boring housework. Sounds weird but i finally took an long overdue shower and changed bedsheets yesterday. Definitely feels better, and slept better, haha
@Former-Member, you still holding strong? i give you peace today - you are enough, just as you are. Rest in knowing you are loved. Well, that's where I'm at today and want to pass it on, hugzz too xox
@Former-Member, thanks for your kind words yesterday, gave me a boost.
@Appleblossom, your last reply touched my heart - thank you, i typed a long reply but lost it, just want you to know you are valued and really 'get' the issues more than most. Stay strong, you're my 'friend family' now xox
So not in the mood to be in a crowd today, church or otherwise. Not down, just calm, restful with God and my girl, and don't want to disturb that rare place yet. Nope, sitting with it and letting it wash over and through me like the healing balm it offers, while its here. A form of minddfulness I guess - noticing. Learning to value that inner resource these days, more than words can say, finally. A good day for it.
Hi @Former-Member, @harshreality, and everyone, have a good say today.

Re: Sleeping too much
I agree @Former-Member. It is really beautiful and most of my favourite colours too. Lovely @Faith-and-Hope.
How are you today @Former-Member. Had a cuppa yet. Sorry for posting that stuff yesterday about me. I've been wanting to edit it ever since. I guess I'd like to see what's in my case notes now. It did help me to reflect and realise that perhaps I was wrong and there is an element of SI there. I'm nowhere near as bad as I was few weeks ago. I hope you are ok. youve handled everything so well and with dignity. I'm proud of you too. PS and if you fall down again it's ok too. I think I'm learning that there is no pick me up without a fall down shortly after, just as long as the fall down isn't destructive. Take care 💜🤗💐

Re: Sleeping too much
I liked your previous post, so real with much hope. Its encouraging me, to watch you bounce back each time, we'll get there, find peace with the humanness of it all. Saturdays are my physical pampering days (hair, nails, skin etc) - sundays the heart (self-compassion, nature, quiet, forgiveness, family. joy, God, gratitude,.music...). Well, on a he inside anyway, my 'hidden agenda' you might say. Big hug my friend, keep moving fwd.

Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @Former-Member
I have given up on the storm cloud on the day of the asthma storm - but I will try again when my eyes feel better - today I am wearing my old glasses that are not as heavy - same lenses - and the pain between my eyes is easier today - aw yesterday!!! I have been busy catching up with myself this morning - all the things I didn't do
My sinuses are affected by pollulants in the atmosphere - I have a medically proven housewife's dream allergy to dust mites - sky high from blood tests - ow wow - I have not used a vacuum cleaner for decades and I do not dust - I wipe surfaces with a damp cloth.
But pollens and other muck and dust and fluff and stuff in the air can attack me too - pretty sure it's not what I eat though a chockie fest and bring on a migraine but we all know that 0_|_]]
Like you I had to find a way to care about myself - I was really surprised when a friend told me she needed some time for herself. I had never heard of such a thing! In fact I was overwhelmed when I was first married - Mr Sitnsulk was silent and morose and my family was noisy - it was natural for us to shout our way through meal times and the isolation of the first years of my married life was something unnatural - but now I am alone I am busy liking it.
Still - self-compassion - it must be a generational thing - I have been told so often that the previous generations lived through one or two wars and the Great Depression and had to survive and I guess that's true but it has never meshed in my life that we should not care about each other's well-being - and of course our own.
I was told I had a very happy childhood most of the time - but I know I was far from happy - I kept it to myself because I am sure no one cared - anyway
When one of our children die we do need that time to nurture ourselves - like you say - people can't give you what they don't have and after my son died I found myself in this new world where I did not have anything to give anyone else - and the pain I walked through was something I coped with by saying "I will feel better once I get on the train - I will feel better when I get to class - I will feel better when I get home" but in retrospect this was not self-care - this was just what I did - along with drinking a lot of orange and mango juice - I haven't worked that out yet - why that juice? - weird.
I understand about it being foreign to focus on yourself. Everyone else in my family was to "upset" for me to talk about it - so that was the best they could do - [big rising inflection and question marks]
????????? Cripes - I can't understand that one at all - I guess you feel the same - what a cruel way to behave
About my back pain - since I hurt my spine no one important to me in the medical profession has questioned that the pain was bad. I had a lot of tests very quickly - the problem was that I needed to have authorisation to have the medication I have - and it is an on-going thing - for so long - but they always wan't me to take less which I understand - but I don't think I can go any lower that what I am having now - the MRI I had last year proved that although surgery is out of the question the damage is pretty severe
I could get involved with the Juvenile Justice System again - I could make an issue - but I have reached a stage in my life when I have to think of myself - I burned out so badly several times and yes - it was an amazing thing to have saved someone's life.
I don't know what this is all so widely spaced but still - I will write about this another time - I am still very tired and need to take a break and have another coffee or something. But when thinking about a young man who I could not save and another young man whose life I did help to save is a powerful way of shifting my thoughts
Sorry about not writing more - I am not coping physically right now and getting irritated with myself
