Re: Sleeping too much

@Susanne, its when ya feel trapped in a box, can't go, can't stay, and the box is suffocating and stinking and nauseating and paralysing and alone, its then th SI is strong. What can I do?

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member @TAB @Former-Member @Shaz51

Been following along here for a bit but have got low-signal issues happening, so apologies if it drops out again ....

@Former-Member ... people grieve in different ways. Sounds like your S1 hasn't processed the pain of losing his sister. Probably the flowers he bought her when he was last thee was a huge baby step for him, and he will shy away from you a bit by association of that pain .... not the best, but probably the best he can do in this minute .... and guessing his dad doesn't engage emotionally with it, so in boy land that will be easier to cope with, while still making some sort of family connection on the day. Guessing he has treading very lightly with that ... maybe even keeping it just in his peripheral vision cos that's all he could manage ....

Doesn't help you though .... not this year .... maybe around the 7 year mark he will have processed it enough to connect with you in the day. And you didn't know, he may be kicking himself for the way he spoke to you, but doesn't know how to touch base again without feeling the grief pain, just for this moment ....

So ... a trip to the caravan park sounds good to me. Would your widow friend join you ? She knows what grief does ? Maybe friend-family is what you need right now.

And your KYB girls .... ? Do they know about this date ? Do they know you don't just pretend it doesn't exist out of embarrassment for the person who is bereaved ? People who haven't suffered loss this way need teaching .... tell them you need to celebrate her life, mark the occasion, validate her existence ....

Suzanne's suggestion is a god one, from what I see, but lost on your bl##d relatives. It needs to be your friend-relatives you reAch out to because you have a bl##d relative family who are not in touch with themselves emotionally, let alone being emotionally available to you or anyone else.

My iPad is still playing up ... might be low signal or something, cos this phone did the same thing this morning .... but I will post images when I can, including for your J ....

Hugs n hugs @Former-Member-girl

Re: Sleeping too much

Thanks @Faith-and-Hope, you understand my son better than me maybe, I fear he's turned into his heartless father. His values are proving to be very different to mine and both of them don't credit me with much brains. Such arrogance grates me these days. Then again, I'm the one not function all enough to get off welfare.

Had an optometrist apt this arvo but just can't move so cancelled. The numbness is kicking in, paralysis. Probably just sleep away the next few days, who would know. Don't want to be here.
Crazy how a number on a calendar can do this.

Re: Sleeping too much

Great that you tried @Former-Member but I'm sorry to hear that it was too much for him.

So, back to the plans you were discussing with @TAB, they were coming along....

Re: Sleeping too much

Hey @Former-Member, looking back I missed your post about feeling trapped so apologies if my response (to your previous post about your son) then seemed flippant. The concern and care are genuine - even if the execution is sometimes clumsy.

You seemed to be on a bit of a roll making plans with TAB about how to take control of the day - make it into something more bearable - when I took it in a different direction. What would help now? Do you want to work through the pain or plan for the distraction.

It's fine to tell to back away - feelings are so heightened right now - but do it gently Tawney. I'm happy to respect what you need.
