Re: Sleeping too much

Just come out of psych session, kind of had a meltdown talking about my baby brothers and mum and Christmas and the x... Everything went numb and she lost me, well not in body. She thought it was interesting, all the he fight flight neural responses on the body. Though I have to remind myself what she sees is very different to what I see. I can only remember walking in and out mostly, another hour lost to ptsd. Sometimes I wonder if any of them know how hard it is or can really help. But I'm trying all I know how... I did make a suggestion to create structure for my progress (sessions) - to work through the Russ Harris bk 'the happiness trap' and discuss progress (how I've put it into practise) in sessions. She's big on mindfulness and happy to run with the plan. I need that accountability to do the work in between sessions (like my very structured 1st yr uni study commitments, before marriage brackdown ruined everything, and like my kyb study group). Anyway, the next apt is 4wks, need more, she's booked out 'till then so on my own again. Think this is gonna be a long summer.
I'm sitting in a park with a cold drink talking to you guys (whoever's available) before driving home in that numb state.
- the cold fizzy drink is soothing going down
- the fragrance of the jasmine nearby is sweet and calming
- the green tree canapy overhead, speckled by sunlight in fron't of a blue shy shades the workers below, some seated on the grass others sharing lunch while others stroll by. There are plenty of butterflies but not one bird.
- there's an annoying distant buzz of machinary - beeping and crashing of heavy construction. There's an absense of bird life noises but a buzzing insect just past by.
I have a 6" spicy chicken salad subway roll to eat but just can't eat yet. Gonna drive home shoetly, take a headache pill and go to bed.
Hope its OK to just post and not read and help sometimes, like this. Bit selfish but need you atm. Thanks

Re: Sleeping too much

Not selfish at all @Former-Member .... all part of the go on the forums .... a necessary part .... looking after you has to be your first priority ..... there is a very big difference between a commitment to self-care, and selfishness. You're doing it very well in your circumstances, and you are pursuing the sort of healing that will change your circumstances ongoing .... kudos to you ❤

Sounds like voicing the mindfulness is helping you, and I love hearing about where you are and what you're doing, my pen-friend ... encourages others to do the same too ...

Hugs @Former-Member .... ❤💕

Re: Sleeping too much

Are, you noticed I was revording a mindfulness exercise, and don't mind Hoping others pick it up, the practical application of it all. Thanks for affirming that and NOTICING. Actually gives me something positive to talk about, even though mundane to others, it saves me.

Love to hear what everyone else is doing.

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member Good to hear that it helps you to chat on here, not selfish at all. It is nice to read your mindfulness.

A sleep will help you feel a bit better. Crying is so draining and you have had alot of emotional upsets lately.

Super hot and humid here. I'm on my 2nd load of washing and am now heading in the shower.

Having a quiet day, apart from usualy chores.

Did you end up sleeping ok last night?

Hugs to you. xo
