Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member

I will check in on that thread - to be a voice of sense - I feel it's required - but it's better to be more sensitve about it all than proscriptive - there are enough "shoulds" in this world

And I am so glad I have helped you - that is a wonderful thing to know

OMG - that is crap - getting the news of a death in a text - at least someone could ring you - ah - I should ask does S1 actually speak to you? My MIL died a few years back - I struggled with the thought of going to her funeral seeing as she is dd's gm - but in the end I did not go - she was never my friend - as in your case - she didn't like me and my feeling was the same

Christmas Blues thread - good idea - there is too much HO HO HO and I get so tired of that - the best Christmas comment I got one year was when I was in a shop and Father Christmas was there and I asked him what I was getting for Christmas and he suggested I go over and he would show me - that was worth a laugh

Christmas can be very very lonely -

Don't worry about being in a crap mood- I understand and my cat is really busy today - sleeping

I sat down for my lunch and she wanted to sit in my lap - "getoutamyfoodcat"

Take it easy

Last post on page 521 @Former-Member .....

That's great news @Former-Member. What a relief.

Not sure what to say re your MIL @Former-Member .... glad you can see some positives about her even if she didn't take to you ..... means there is something of that passed down to your son as well ..... hopefully mostly good stuff.

❤

Re: Sleeping too much

Hello @Former-Member, such sad news. I'm sorry to hear. Your sister is lucky to have you, I'm sure this alone helps her spirit no end.
I wish only kind thought to you both.
Very emotionally taxing time for you.
I hope you find some restful moments to care for yourself too.❤

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member, sorry, missed that this was your sister. It is good news that she's going home, sounded like she was on deaths door, what a relief. But still sounds worth following up. Does your sis recognise you and value seeing you? I understand your fear of losing her too after such a tough year of loss & her being so fragile. I commend you for staying connected to her, being there for her. God honours that. Take her 'welcome flowers & chockies' if she's not too far away. Reason to celebrate. You be gentle with yourself. Stay strong.
🙂

Re: Sleeping too much

Just spoke to S1, even though he had little contact with his other grandmother, he was upset at the news and worked from home. He feels bad (guilty) that he couldn't make it to her 95th birthday last month. Not only did his dad tell him by email but also said he won't be going to the funeral but won't say why. Of cause S1 wont go without his dad. He wants to visit his dad this w'end but doesn't drive yet and his partner doesn't want to do it (or something), so, even so soon after I was left out of the weekend party (which was a great success), I offered a lift, if he gets the country bus I'll pick him up & drop him off at his dads & back again if he'll just have coffee out with me (anything to see him). He thought that was all a good idea, he'ill think on it & get back to me. He seemed happier after I offered.

What is this forgiving sacrificial thing we have for our children??? makes the world go round 🙂 oh, and, he even said he's hoping he can come spend Christmas with me this year. Yipee!! But he told me not to get too excited just yet because he's trying g to work it out with his partner, who I'm starting to think is 'A little miss' Time will tell. Last year was my year but he wanted it with my parents and I hot too sick to travel at the last minute, so missed out. Don't expect anything really, just have to get through it.

So good to have you guys to chat to.

Keep swimming!

Re: Sleeping too much

WTG @Former-Member .... ❣

What a wonderful communication with your son, and generous offer, particularly in the face of the recent dropped ball, and especially also that you are offering to drop and collect him from your ex .... so well done .... you are reminding him again and again what your value system is, and what you imparted to him .... nudging him to do the right thing by you .... but also by himself ....

If his miss is "a little miss", he's going to have to work out whether to stand by his own value system or to kowtow to hers .... I have seen my S1 come through something of the same.

Whatever the outcome @Former-Member, it's still a win for all of those reasons .... it might take time yet for him to step up for you .... please don't lose hope .... keep swimming towards your goals.

❤️🌺🐠💕🌷🌹❣
