Re: Sleeping too much
@Former-Member I have only been mildly anaemic.
Take care of you. I hope it can be rectified. As a nurse you probably have good instinct re your own body.

Re: Sleeping too much
Other than that I've been really good. Feeling so much calmer these past few days.
Next psychologist appointment is Thursday. I'm hoping he will give me and Work cover the ookay for me to go back into the workforce. I feel I'm ready to start looking for work. I'm getting too bored at home.
You may be able to get a decent sleep. I hope you sleep right through the night. And I hope your kidney infection clears up quickly.

Hi @Former-Member
Try not to fear the worst. Iron deficiency is a common health problem. My iron levels dived early on in my Metabolic Syndrome issue, then when I started taking supplements it went too high.
Increase iron-rich foods in your diet, and see what happens, but it is also a mineral that is linked to Vitamin C .... Vit C increases your ability to absorb iron so try to pair foods from the high iron list with the high Vit C list .... eg boiled green leafy vegies with lemon juice squeezed over .... and fish with lemon juice squeezed over.
"There are two forms of dietary iron: heme and nonheme. Heme iron is derived from hemoglobin. It is found in animal foods that originally contained hemoglobin, such as red meats, fish, and poultry (meat, poultry, and seafood contain both heme and non-heme iron). Your body absorbs the most iron from heme sources. Most nonheme iron is from plant sources."

Iron-rich foods
Beef
Dark, leafy greens
Fish, prawns and oysters
Tofu
Beans - kidney, garbanzo, white
Cereal and whole grains
Eggs
Maple syrup and molasses
Nuts and dried fruit
Fresh fruit
Dark chocolate
Vitamin C-rich foods
Oranges
Red capsicums
Kale
Brussel sprouts
Broccoli
Strawberries
Grapefruit
Guava
Kiwifruit
Green capsicum
@Former-Member - some of these you can add into your soup, like beans, spinach, kale .... and serve with whole grain bread and tinned fish.
See how you go.

Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @Decadian, so relate to your mixed feelings over christmas. Hope you get time with your GGs. All the best with therapist tomorrow. So much unresolved pain there with your mum. Write to her, or yell at an empty chair, not the same but helps me. One day I'll really lash out at my TS in a letter but then burn it because even my anger is mine.
Yes, "all these things pass, even great pain"
@Former-Member 💜 no worries, think we all get too tired often, MO is a F/T job, rest up, chat later 😊
Thanks @utopia, I'll try eat red meat, maybe in soup, and iron tabs once cultures sent off. Do like fried fresh spinach & zucchini
Yes @Shaz51, i will google List of iron foods, or maybe I can just boil up some rusty nails lol
Yep @Former-Member, dr is concerned with sudden drop of a fee elements. Your pregnancy sound hard, bet the kids are healthy 🙂
I think it's tummy ulcer?
You read the Grief & Loss thread? Bit of a hard read there, i can't go there every day. Thanks for your kind words / empathy. I'd like to hear more about how you cope with loss & grieving (maybe on that thread). I like that there's a place 'away' from usual chatter to address the sad, sobering topic of grief. Violence brings many losses into our existence. Youre right, Grief doesn't go away, it dissipates & comes & goes in waves, as you say "out of nowhere" Mindfulness grounding has helped me a lot for those moments.
Hi @Faith-and-Hope, interesting the connection with Iron & Metabolic Syndrome. Think all these iron rich foods are 'too hard' lol but I will try put more of them in my soup and just take the Ferris+C sup. Thanks for the list though. Pretty much do most of that - accept red meat & crustaceans.
Think its gonna rain, sore bones & soooo hot 🙂

Re: Sleeping too much
I tend to add beans to a lot of my dishes - even meat dishes. I use a lot of chick peas, canelli beans and lentils to different dishes. It helps bulk out the meal - especially when I only have a small amount of meat available or the price of meat is high.
I'll have to try fried spinach and zucchini.

Re: Sleeping too much
@Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope and friends 💕
My heart feels broken, feeling so devastated. Visited someone very close to me in hospital late this afternoon. The only sibling I talk to. She's intellectually and physically disabled, been in wheelchair for years. Has had an accident today. Broken neck and 2 bleeds on her brain.
She's the kindest, sweetest person ever.
It is so incredibly sad to see her.
The disease she suffers from is devastating enough and now this. It's just too much to see. I've struggled with watching her deteriorate for years.
Makes my struggles seem like nothing. 😢

Re: Sleeping too much
That is heart-breaking @Former-Member ..... praying too, and will continue to do so ....
My D2 has physical and intellectual disability .... from birth tho, rather than a deterioration. Her hardest years were her early ones. It was a real struggle. I am not trying to take away from what you are feeling for your special sibling, just wanting you to know you are not alone and bring you some sense of comfort.
Crying is important I think. There are some things that need to be said in tears ....
Hugs n hugs .....
