Re: Sleeping too much
That's a lovely way of putting it @Former-Member ❤️
We probably all need to spend time spoiling our inner child with some fun for-children activities ....

I think its the weights too @TAB .
I once quite a good athlete and I mite do some masters swimming and cross country running but my focus will be mainly on the running.
I live here on the Gold Coast and lucky to have a world class private facility close by. I think exercise has helped me so much - strong physically and strong mentality.
How was your day @TAB ??

He's a three year old. His name is Thor. Yes ... high prey drive .... high everything drive .... 😆
I have posted on the "What's new: services, research and technologies" discussion topic regarding my WH and his ed .... it's sort of branched into a combination of several, including excessive exercise. Information is the best way to get the message out there, and I figure that's the best place to share it. Eating Disorders Victoria have fact sheets available on the site too.
There doesn't appear to be a treatment for WH's eye at the moment. If it did proceed to a retinal tear or detachment, then surgery is available for those conditions, but it would seem not for this one. None was offered in any case.
And no .... far from recognising there is any problem, he is feeling somewhat superior about his lifestyle, and what he sees as achievements and benefits .... in fact, but losing his excess weight, he has achieved dramatic health benefits .... but he went about it in an eating disordered manner, which has then proceeded to a full-blown ed that is risking his health at the opposite extreme from where he was before.
He has zero understanding that he is doing long-term damage. It's very distressing if we dwell on it, so we - the kids and I - have to take it out of central focus most of the time, and wait for the outcomes, hoping for the best ....
The alternative would be to leave him, but in his unbalanced emotional state, that wouldn't be any better, and the relationships would likely be unrecoverable once he did receive help, and perhaps his health along with it by then.
Anyway .... we are determined to stay by him for as long as we can manage it.

He is at a good age (Thor)- he would be a great companion.
I hope WH realizes what he is doing soon, and that he is damaging his health.
Have you ever read the book "Facing Codependency" by Pia Mellody? It mite be worthwhile having a read.I think while he stays in that superior state it will be unlikely that he sees their is a problem unless the eating disorder affects him in a way that he can't function.
I myself have lost quite a bit of weight in the last 18 months but I have done quite sensibility, and my weight has come off slowly. I think exercise can become quite additive- and like you said its not uncommon for people to go from one extreme to another. My reason for this was because of my premature menopause and I needed to do it for my health.
I know of a treatment facility in Sydney it is one of the leading centres in Australia, I am not sure what is available in Perth. Has your GP been able to assist you at all or talk to WH?
