Re: Sleeping too much

Hello everybody

Had a weird sleep in .. maybe too many tranquilisers ... panicked and thought I had missed my doctor's appointment... so then made lunch and son called and wanted me to meet him at a theatre and see 2 movies. So I agreed even tho it was impromptu and immediate. I threw on clothes and met him in time .. by train. It was an ok afternoon .. not movies I would choose but getting better at dealing with current level of violence in movies .. close eyes a lot and hold out my hand to protect myself ...ha ha .. try not to gasp out loud .. as it really annoys my son .. tho he puts up with it.

My son had come in from the country to go to choir and staying at gf's house and then they were both going back to the country ... said he would call me on weekend from his father's place.

When I got home I realised that I hadnt missed doctor's appointment at original time after all .. but that it was supposed to be on during the time I was in movie with my son. I am glad I saw him over the doctor but will have to explain tomorrow.

I had another weird fear of time loss issue a week earlier .. where I was right and son was wrong .. but still I panicked ... maybe its just going with flow .. maybe I am too wound up ... I had one less pill today as I forgot and was out the door to meet him.

Last night I had a beautiful night ... social ... quite thought provoking .. a talk by the 2016 Miles Franklin winner and our writers group had a table of about 8 and a meal. I am getting into water only habit.

I was rested ... maybe I then panicked next day cos I had enjoyed myself with other adults ... Longed to find like-minded group of friends for so long .. the 2 Americans who trigger and bully me were not present ... so it was really great.

Anyway thats me ... checking in ... hope all you guys and gals are not too bad.

Re: Sleeping too much

Oh @TAB, I was trying to bait you. 😊
My generation (I have no idea how old you are?) has a whole internet war over what they should be called. All in good fun, of course!
Coffee machine is good.
You've just made me remember when I was a barista in a 'hip' suburb and people would come by before the cafe was open, and I would hide behind the coffee machine drinking my 1st cup for the day because if they saw me they'd try and get an early cup before we were officially open.

Re: Sleeping too much

@Appleblossom. Glad you had a nice time with your son - even if the films weren't your sort of movies.
All my appointments are put into my mobile - so an alarm goes off - giving me time to get ready and be there on time.
With regards to medications - I bought a small morning and evening dispenser. Once a week I sit down and fill it up. This way I can clearly see if I've taken them or not. I wish I could convince my mum to use one. It scares me, when she can't remember whether she has taken a tablet or not.
The talk by the Miles Franklin winner sounds really interesting and I'm glad those 2 people weren't there and you had a great time.
Sounds like you are really doing well with your anxiety and coping tools. That's brilliant

Re: Sleeping too much

What about tea tree @utopia? I use a natural spray that is just water and tea tree, I think. Smells fine.

@Former-Member I've been much the same, thanks for asking. Have been really struggling since started seeing psychologist again. Have had 7 visits and feel like I'm getting nowhere. But, I'm thankful I'm off benz, so that's something positive. Gosh! After taking them for a couple of months, they were making me feel more depressed. Definitely just for short term use, for me.

I mentioned in a message that I am trying to do mindfulness more often and acknowledging bad feelings/thoughts and letting them pass. I think that will help in the long run.

Hi @Former-Member I call them potato cakes too, hehe! @TAB

I better be a good girl and go and do some pilates stretches and get ready for bed. Back later.

Hi @Appleblossom I did notice you there and will read your message later, after shower etc. I hope that you are ok..

Re: Sleeping too much

..never woulda guessed that @Former-Member lol re 'baiting' .. yes, you did mention sitting on floor next to coffee machine til almost 'rote' became well a few weeks ago .. how is your new barista job going? think you mentioned that a bit after that ..and they are what they are re potato cakes, have tried to order 'scallops' here and been corrected .. yes born early 60s. getting a bit tired of this cuurent 'excuse' for Australia .. anytime here I experienced previously was better, and yes that's backwards, .. and linear ..atleast, if not exponential

Re: Sleeping too much

@TAB, it's my safe place. (Can one have social anxiety in the internet?)

Re: Sleeping too much

@Former-Member. I'll check with my mum - as I think tee tree is one of her no go allergies. Don't you just love genetics!
If she's ok with it - then I'll definitely give it a try. Thanks
