@Former-Member
It's far better to talk about this sort of thing ( you know what I'm talking about ). Turning your brain inside out and upside down isn't necessary because you have genuine friends who will be here for you through thick and thin. I only wish my friend had kept her promise to me and phoned me. Well she didn't and she lost her battle. One that she was just starting to win.

It was the first time I had been on the other side of that issue. It was someone at work and I was the next-of-kin. I also watched the reactions of her colleagues ( I already knew obviously ) and that has changed me in a positive way, forever.

You are very special to all of us and you give so much to so many people. Try hard to avoid hiding away from us when those ugly dark thoughts threaten to overwhelm you.

You my dear are loved and cherished. 💕💜💟💕💖💕

Re: Sleeping too much

Yep @Faith-and-Hope glad we have the mods help ... cos I am hopeless with those boundaries. We do need to dip into talking about the real issues that we are confronting or there will be no healing .. just a superficial chat that wont have the pull . . of deeper talk.

@Former-Member you are not horrible ... that things havent worked out maybe just that the people wre not the right fit. I can see that is what happens for me a lot.

A lady ... who has been really difficult for me in the last 4 years .. said she missed me at my son's birthday ... I dont know what will come of that .. but it was important for her to say it .. as she has said a great deal of non complimentary stuff .. had HIGH standards etc.

& @Former-Member I also make justifications ... that tell me it is logical to go ... but you are right they are tricks of the mind .... there are also huge parts of me that want to stay and never to hurt a soul by those actions which cant be reversed.

I could see the discussion evolve and have felt like Tawney a lot ... fear of losing people ... it was really great you both worked it through.

I think for me it has taken 20 years to see where I had been ... the rise and the level of my distress and the consequences on others ... and the knowledge that it was triggered due to the consequences of others' distress (my sibs) on me.

I do get attached easily and possibly unwisely... yet it is a core part of me ... fighting suicidal ideation and any associated actions has now been a huge part of my life.

Just breathe easy ... for each serene moment ... and I hope they grow into good hours and better days ... and weeks ...

Thanks @Appleblossom, and I really like the last bit. "Just breathe easy ... for each serene moment ... and I hope they grow into good hours and better days ... and weeks ..."

@Former-Member and @Former-Member
A day of massive activity and then a self inflicted blah day??
Moderation in all things is worth gold. Measure out how much you do. A moderate amount each day has to be a lot more pleasant han knocking yourself out for the next day or two.
@Former-Member what about building up gradually to longer walks. Start with 2 kms but keep the speed up. Do just that each for a week and then aim for 3 kms etc then 4 kms. Slowly start to introduce a small hill etc. You get the drift and you'll also get the benefit every day.

Moderation in ALL things my darlings. 🎶💕💖💕🎶

Re: Sleeping too much

Doncha jus luv @Kurra

I have done a lot of one day active 3 days down ... and then that improved ..2 days active 2 days down ...

I get allergic to neat proverbs ... cos I worry that I have to apply every single proverb in existence to my decision making for every single moment of my life .. and I am dumb .. there are a great many contradictory proverbs ... and we need that down time sometimes to work out which ones make sense to us ...

the growth of mindfulness is a testament to the importance of stillness at times ... as in sitting or laying down ... not feeling down ... but yes ... it can help to moderate or regulate our selves ...

but maybe not moderation in all things .. we all need to know who we are here in our fullness and intensities ..

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member 😊 I went with my daughter. Was hoping to buy a dress, new clothes. Can't find anything that suits me lately. 😯

Had lunch before we left and didn't feel like stopping for coffee. Too tired from looking at clothes. 😂 Just wanted to go home.

Just watched a good movie. Age of Adeliene.
Need a cuppa now.

How are you and how is everyone else who is on here? 😊💜🌹🌸🌻☕🍰

Re: Sleeping too much

@Kurra, thanks, sounds good in theory, lol
Sorry, just can't get my head around a 2km walk. Most days I stand at the door & just can't step out, weird.

@Appleblossom, I often wonder how you cope with the suicide discussions & near misses and psychosis - with not one but two siblings lost to it. Its unimaginable! And helps me seevehat my siblings (x5) might have felt when I was hospitalised wit parasuicides. And your own SI struggle. The way you see things really helps me, but more than anything, like with @Former-Member, I know you 'get it'

You might be interested in a preacher I was introduced to today, found him online, Ray Andrews, found a brillient article of his on 'Self Hatred' (not sure if its good to post here because his answer is in Jesus & explains why). Take a look if you get time, he was visiting speaker in Newcastle last W'end. @Faith-and-Hope, you might like to take a look.

I wouldn't be here but for my faith, floundering as it does, I know God understands. - I simply wouldn't cope with the isolation without scripture, wisdom & my relationship with the HS.

Tx my son, with a pic of my reno project to my son, but he didn't reply yet. Makes me sad. Its good I have you to tell. My neighbours are having a loud party. Don't know if to be happy for them, scared of wondering drunks or sad I wasn't invited. Maybe I feel all three. But hey, what does mindfulness teach us - their just feelings, just thoughts, they can't hurt us, I acknowledge them, let them pass, & turn up my movie. lol

Getting better at this.

I don't think I expected the avalanche of responses when I first posted today and I am feeling overwhelmed by your support. Thank you all for sharing your stories or the tip of the iceberg of them. For me I don't have those experiences to reflect on. I have not experienced the loss through death of anyone close to me. I think I have a very mixed up view of the world sometimes. I'm not sure if we all do it but I always have two sets of rules. One rule for everyone and one rule for me. I know I would be devastated if I lost any of you forum friends (or people in real life) because I see you all having so much to give and live for, you all have amazing talents that I am inspired by. It hard for me to see this in reverse. I am not looking for responses to this. I just want to really thank you for your honesty and support. I didn't want to leave this hanging but I guess it's time to leave it here sitting for a while. I think I need to add this to the long list for my therapist on Monday. We haven't ever really talked about it either just skirted around the edges. I really hope this hasn't changed anyone's mood. Wishing you all a peaceful night and good weekend. I think most of us can breathe except for @Faith-and-Hope. Thinking of you and hoping the kitchen tea goes well. Hugs to you all. I am so very grateful for all your support. 💜😊💐
