Re: Sleeping too much

MORNING TEA TIME! What's happening? Everyone's so quiet. I've had one of those disorientated weeks mixing up the days, Happens without social structures and tv reception.

Found a missed call message when i woke, my only incoming call in two days, Mother dear tried to ring me for the first time in forever (usually its me), she just wanted to say hi the tx said, it was 6.30am. Of cause I didn't hear the phone, which she'll be angry about & cause me of ignoring her..... She knows I'm not a morning person & later in the day is better but its always been about her needs. Makes it hard to help, feel so depleted (buurned out) with family. Wish I still had it to give.

@Former-Member, "swamp clothesline" whats with that? must be heavy rain there. We've had it all night, lovely.
@Former-Member, you hanging in there? pace yourself.
@Decadian, what you up to today?
@Faith-and-Hope, is D3 staying focused. Hope the day goes OK with WH return. Thinking of you.

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member .... 😊

Hugs ... ❣

D3 is up and going this morning ... late .... what's new ? .... but going .... ❤️

Found out yesterday that she doesn't have to pass everything in all subjects ... just has to register that the assessment was attempted .... so she will be working to that like a map to get through the rest .... needs her Cert 4 in AIT tho .... so has to achieve passes in that next week ....

That's next week tho .... and this is this week .... so up and on with this week .... 🌷💕

Hey @Former-Member, yes it's so boggy it's terrible.
Not raining. Hooray big time!
You are a giver Tawney, some people always just want more.
Maybe she can learn a few night tricks to get with your program!! 😜
Hey but I'm up for challenging boundaries at times! 😁

Re: Sleeping too much

Morning @Former-Member too. Just read your post on another thread. It was good support. I hope your day goes ok. Rain has caused chaos here. House where my son live had a river under it and nearly lapping at the door. 😬

Re: Sleeping too much

@Faith-and-Hope, sounds like D3 might actually make it, what a relief that will be. What's AIT stand for? Would D3 like to study photography next year? (maybe have that conversation another time). Hope WH doesn't upset the applecart at this critical time, maybe he can stay at him mums, lol. (my bad 🙂

@Former-Member, its so good to hear from you, i've had you on my heart. You take all the time you need, well done for holding some ground and not sinking all the way. I soooo know how hard that it. It might not 'feel' like it but you're doing really well. Hold yourself gently. if you like, i can type out one of my fav Self-Compassion Exercises for you? Its doesn't take long. Have you looked up Russ Harris book "Reality Slap" yet. Its an adventure in Self-Compassion. Its teaching me to be the mother I never really had. Self nurture etc. The unexpected spinoff from it is being more tolerant / loving toward others. But baby steps as you say. Depression makes it hard to be kind to yourself, so we're both retraining the brain there. Cyber hugz my friend.

@Former-Member, maybe grab some big'sh pavers from Bunnings & make stepping stones under the clothesline. BTW I love that you're such a good mum to your boys, stay strong 🙂

I just rang mum, she's all upset that she doesn't fit into her fav clothes, having lost so much weight with the cancer. Like me she's trying to declutter & boasted that dads 'dyper' boxes (incontinence aids) make great boxes to leave out the front veranda for charity to collect. I didn't give her the satisfaction of buying into it with her (adult ADHD) but it angers me. Reminds me of the time when I wet the bed at 14yo, she woke me with icey water, dragged me out the front yard (where of cause I thought the whole school, the world could see me), she hosed me off & yelled profanities ('piddle pot' was my nickname at home those days), but if hosing me off out the front yard wasn't enough, mum angtilly dragged my stained mattress out the front to dry, for yhe eorld to ser. Of cause I thought the world knew it was mine & not my younger 4 siblings, and the shame, all day long (so much shame). Mother thought I was just lazy & did it on purpose, she never understood or believed that I couldn't help it. I did it in my sleep, like snoring, and hated waking up smelly and wet and cold & fearing what she'll do to me. Even when I washed my own bed linen, she still punished me. .I Didn't stop wetting the bed 'till I left home (16). I'm crying about it now (there's always a trigger with mums calls). Shes still cruel, but now with dads incontinence, poor dad, breaks my heart. I needs Gods help to love her. Any suggestions guys.

Re: Sleeping too much

Tell her to bag them tied up @Former-Member.
Let her keep herself busy putting them in bags labelled Salvos or which ever charity is picking them up.
Stick it to her, that it at least allows your dad some dignity.
If you reckon the later will go down alright.
She sounds like a fairly tough lady.
