Re: Sleeping too much
Good you got a walk this morning. I haven't been exercising much lately. Hard to find motivation when feeling so down all the time.
Have to head put soon.
Haven't solved much at psychologit visits, but each visit is a little step forward somehow, I guess. 😊 At least I'm trying. 😀 Might be a while before she'll be able to do EMDR with me. She said I put a protective wall up, when she tried it last time, because it's too painful to "go there". I wish it wasn't so, as I just want to be healed. I reaĺly wanted it to work.
I hope you have a rest sometime this afternoon. 💗☕🍰🌹🌻
Hello @Decadian I noticed you are there. 😊💜

Hi @Former-Member
I had a look at EMDR - and PTSD - I wonder if that would work for me because I get into the pits with my car accident and my son dying two years later - it seems I can't think of one thing without the other
But I sort of get the idea - if we put something else in place of the trauma - eg - learning to move our eyes as we do with our breathing or hand exercises or something like that - maybe we can change that
Seriously though - I wonder if I started practising that when I had a flashback - and I happened to be in public - now I wonder what that would be like
But in private - putting one thing in place of another - one harmless - the other - emotional chaos - it could work
But you have to be ready to go there with your therapist - not alone - not yet - but when she feels you are ready
I hope this works for you - I have a feeling that it can - I will be interested in learning more

Hi @TAB
When my son was little he had a squeaky wheel on his tricycle and I could hear this and I had some peace - and he would be riding up and down in a quiet street and I would know everything was fine
And my busy-body neighbour - I heard nothing and I was outside in a flash - and he was on his tricycle being a well behaved little boy - and my neighbour held up her old can saying
"I fixed the squeaky wheel" - looking so self-satisfied
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww -
Enough said

Hi @utopia
There are all kinds of orb spiders - but they all have a big round tail
If you want pics of anything at all - try looking at Bing- and there are pictures of anything you might like to look at - as well as lots of things you would rather not
They are nasty spiders - not the worst by any means but not my idea of a nice and polite little spider
It's a good idea to get rid of spiders though - even though there are some I can take or leave - the web around the tops of the walls - horrible when the get dusty and the wind blows them down
I have said enough

Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @Decadian
I think it would be worth you trying the EMDR. I found a psychologist on internet who does the therapy not far from me. Not everyone is qualified. After much research, I finally understand how it works. I don't like doing things that I don't understand.
Apparently while we are in our REM (repetitive eye movement) stage of sleep, our brain tries to process what has happened during our day. When trauma happens, our brain has trouble processing it.
EMDR helps our brain process the trauma, which gets stuck in our subconscious (and causes havoc in our lives).
Are you able to get a Mental Health Care Plan from your doctor? Or have you already got one? If not, it will give you 6 visits a year to a psychologist (who does EMDR). If you have the care plan and have already used some of the visits, I am fairly sure that you will be able to change psychologists and still use the remaining visits. The psychologist will either fully bulk bill you or partly bulk bill you.
Have you had a good day today? I haven't read all the messages on here.
