All good @utopia. I think though to be fair I've only been seeing her again about 5 months though and we've only just become settled and I don't think she's experienced my running on adrenaline like I was yesterday before, but you are right and I need to let her know they are the days she needs to jump in and take over.

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member, @Eutopia, @Faith-and-Hope, @Shaz51, @Decadian... etc

Thanks for tagging me (shucks, I feel loved). Only just checked in today believe it or not. Had a Restless night, only slept about 4hrs finally after 6am. Forced myself to shower & go to Psychologist apt. which was, soso. We talked about grounding exercises, thoughts, acceptanct committment & being kind & loving to ourself when it hurts. Validate the pain, give it a name & hug your own heart. Was interesting. Got teary & angry when she prattled on about ways to improve my sleep, weird. Regarding the medicare rebate delays, She told me to get the app on my phone instead of mailing it, Im still waiting to be reimbursed for last month's apt - very slack so maybe I'll try that.

Hope everyone's day has been OK, I'm really tired.

Saw the Dr today too & got ABs for sinusitis which is a real headache, haha!

Teej, what's happening? You having a back step in the dance of life? recovery? We're allowed off days where we just attend to the basics. Not beating oneself up with harsh thoughts is a challenge. Ground yourself in acknowledging present moment realities in your immediate surroundings - x5 things for each of the 5 senses. Judgement free noticing. Slows down those rogue thoughts. Your pooch sounds like he she really loves you. A little walk with a long lead wouldn't hurt. I'm lucky I have a doggie door for my pup. I plan to train him to sleep in his bed when it warms up. I drag his bed into my room & ground him to it with a lead. He catches on. A bed jacket & stuffed toy helps. Washed the dog smell out of all my bedding yesterday, blankets, donnas etc, the rain humidity brings out that smell - not good. But their worth the trouble. // What you having for tea? Gess I'll cook some fish & wedges for dinner, or not. maybe an omelett.

Hi @Former-Member @utopia @Faith-and-Hope @Decadian @Former-Member and anyone else who is around. Too many messages to catch up on, so not sure how you are all going, but I did notice that @Former-Member has been having a bad day, sorry to hear that. Don't forget to eat. I feel so much worse if I don't eat.. Sometimes I don't feel hungry and I forget, or i just can't be bothered making anything to eat. But I definitely notice, when I'm down and I finally get around to eating something, it does help a bit. Are you feeling any better this evening?

@Former-Member are you not feeling too well with the cold you have had for a few days?

@Faith-and-Hope Gosh! I hope your daughter will be able to graduate. Surely, if she's doing the assignments at home, they will consider letting her graduate. Especially if she gets reasonable/good marks. Will a doctor's or psychologist's certificate help?

@utopia Have you been ok lately?

@Decadian How have you been? Are you enjoying your new computer? I've had my new laptop for a few weeks now. Still learning. I haven't got any photos on here yet. Have you been feeling ok?

@TAB is very quiet.

@Former-MemberHow was your day with your 3 boys, hectic?

My psychologist tried EMDR on me today, because I asked again. We didn't get anywhere with it. She thinks that, because I've had so many traumas happen in my life, since childhood, that I am so used to protecting myself, I seem to numb myself. One minute I was crying and then I felt no emotion. I am so used to trying to cover up my feelings, because I feel that I should be "over it" all. I want to move on and therefore numb myself. I don't want to dwell on the past, but it still affects me now, so frustrating. I wanted the EMDR to work, so much. Looks like it's going to be a slower process than I thought. Not to worry, at least I'm on the right track and someone understands me.

I'm so grateful for all of you, that we can chat about our day, whether good or bad and we all seem to understand each other.

I have to laugh. A few weeks ago, someone asked me if I was alright, because she noticed that I hadn't been posting or putting up photos much on facebook. I answered briefly that I have been really struggling with PTSD lately. The message said that it had still been unread after nearly a week, so I mentioned to the lady, that I think that she might have missed my message. I didn't want her to think that I was ignoring her. She replied and said, yes, I did read it. That was it, haha! Oh my gosh! Most people are too busy or lazy to care. Thankyou everyone on here who makes the time to care, I appreciate you all.

Re: Sleeping too much

@Former-Member. It's not just our therapist that train us (coping techniques etc), but us who have to train them in what we need. And also in our abilities to hide behind other things.
We teach them about us - so they can teach us about our true selves

Re: Sleeping too much

What a sneaky friend - to read y I ur comment on nit coping and then pressing the Unread button so she wouldn't have to respond. Well done for bringing it up with her. She obviously has more issues than all of us on this site put together. Bloody rude woman.
Yes you said yiu wanted ti try the EMDR on your next visit. Sorry it didn't gi as planned. But you and your psychologist now know you have a few more bricks to knock out of your wall - before you are ready.
I recognise how lucky I was that I was just dealing with the trauma from work. One issue causing my ptsd made my treatment simpler / easier. I know now that I'm more susceptible to ptsd and depression etc, due to my family history of mental health. That's why it's important fir me to try every technique I can to help prevent or reduce the strength of my next episode.
But you will get there. You are determined. You are strong. You have a great therapist. You just have a few more road blocks than me to get through.
@Former-Member @Former-Member @BlueBay @Decadian @Former-Member @TAB @Former-Member and anyone ive missed.
I have to say, reading what you and all the others here have had to go through in life, & here you all are, still fighting. I just think you are all inspirational. You all deserve a medal. I mean that sincerely. You have helped me push myself to get better and to rediscover who I really am.
Thank you.
