Re: Sleeping too much
I'm staying home today - going out is so overrated.
If ever I express loneliness with my church friend (the only visitor who frequents here), she raises her pitch & declares "WELL YOU JUST NEED TO GET OUT THERE MORE... MIX WITH PEOPLE MORE... STOP MISSING CHURCH AS MUCH..." She doesn't get that i often come home feeling worse because i just never seem to 'fit in' (social anxiety). Even shopping, I have to go at a quiet time if I don't want to come home rehashing the encounters (so hard to switch that off the brain). Must get my crocheting out.
Today, after a restless night, I'm actually up & motivated. Rang mum & dad (and didn't let her hook me). Froze my soup in portions - have ×15 meals there now.. Actually look fwd to my frozen home made meals more than takeaway these days. Probably a good thing.👀
Anyway, better get something done... while motivated... still in my trakkies though :)))))
check in later 🌷

Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @Former-Member and @Decadian and all
I have been getting up regularly at 2 pm. I was having a dream and mostly that is a good thing.
I was away a bit as I had a tummy bug and didnt sleep at all one night and then slept a lot.
So @Former-Member I get you when you prefer your own soup to eating out. I was escaping the downpours in Melb and went to a cafe. It was another case of me eating through forcing myself. I didnt think it was good, but made my self eat it (a sausage roll) ... and then got sick .. its just an old tape ... that is stuck in me .. I try and do the right thing foodwise .. and certainly try to serveup good quality food, but I obviously still eat rotten food ... I do have a cast iron stomach so survived ..
Sorry if I seem to drop out suddenly.
Went to a play in one of my old stamping grounds. My son and girlfriend were there and lot of people from one of my groups. We knew a few of the actors. It is nice to actually know a few people when i go out. They are not best friends but at least they are decent people and that stops me from getting too negative about the state of society ra ra ra. If I get too angry about people its not good for me and it is necessary for my son to see me active and get socially active himself.
I had been in a few seasons at that theatre when he was a toddler 20 years ago. It felt familiar. I am still doing the same things and am consistent in that way. Familiarity is important to me with all the instability of childhood.
I also really love the jammie trakky conversation. I have done it most of my life as night wear seemed a luxury I couldnt afford much. I team together odd bits. My son has refused to wear his dressing gown so I have adopted it. I really cant take sexy lingeree very seriously. You have made me feeeeel sooo normal. Thanks.

@Appleblossom@Former-Member
I definitely have to recharge today - I am dressed to go to the supermarket but it's raining on the other side of the bay - oh sheesh - I think fish and chips now and again can add fat to the brain - let's forget about bad fat and good fat and the Food Police -
I've been texting with my daughter - even spoke to her for a while - texting takes me ages and once we start a convo we tend to continue with it -
@Appleblossom - I'm sorry about the upset tummy - was it the sausage roll - I don't like pastry so sausage rolls don't happen - or was it forcing it down? Could be both
I like the soup thing @Former-Member - I have done that - different coloured containers for the different soup I might make each week - but by spring I forget when I made what and ditch a couple of containers with the soup in - I am fussy about food
And so glad the jammie and trakky group are coming out of the woodwork - I feel more normal - I diidn't have any jammies for ages - I slept in my old clothes - handy - I looked dressed first thing
I think I might just have enough energy to get those fish and chips
Back later

Re: Sleeping too much
It was definitely food poisoning ... Thats the thing @Decadian I dont normally do sausage rolls either .. but I am always stretching myself out of my comfort zone ... its not conscious and is done before I even know it. Lack of access to food was a big thing on both sides of my family .. Mum in WWII Holland and dad in orphanages from 6 weeks to he joined the Navy... and then mum .. not really letting him feel at home in HIS home .. and orphanage staff forcing me to eat and then eat vomit ..
I have been doing the soup thing for 20 years and it works for us. I dont have that many containers, so Its fine. I rotate then and we havent had a problem with them.
Its funny as my son had his tummy bug a few weeks ago from his girlfriends cooking .. and she was mortified and I tried to reassure her .. 2 events in one month and then we will go years without an issue.
I also did the "sleep in my clothes" .. I used to be so exhausted from renovating and I'd crash and get up and start the next day.

Re: Sleeping too much
@Appleblossom, they made you eat vomit, thats just horrible abuse 😢. Hugging your mini Appleblossom right now. I'd love to have the patience to prioritize reading old posts & catch up on histories. You sure have risen above so much suffered, and maybe some 'inherited trauma' there too. Must be a pure soul to get this far. Thank you for being here on the forums.
@Decadian, fish & chips - yum. That was my kids fav fortnightly takeaway & dvd hire. Oh, my son had to have chicken gravy on his chips, me too. With freezing stuff, i keep all the ready to eat meals in the to drawer, when its nearly empty i do a cook-up, if its something i might store a long while, I write on a brown paper bag & put it in that. It surprises me how even the dog likes my soup. I pour some over his dry dog food.
⛄Really cold here tonight, west of Brisbane, brrr! Need to go grab a doona or something ❄❄❄

Re: Sleeping too much
@PeppiPatty I last saw my daughter at my mother's funeral. Which was end Dec 2014. I sent her a few emails but no response. Son says he is not impressed that she has completely dismissed me. he says she has no empathy. Thanks for caring about my big issue.

Hope you are better from flu.
@Former-Member I am definitely packing my lunch box from home so I dont eat any rubbish in town tomorrow. I'll be there all day. I do try and learn from my mistakes, but then I make another one.

Re: Sleeping too much
Dear @Decadian
How are you? I love your message.... I live in either jammies .....where I live....often there are plastic bags of thrown away clothes outside people's houses.....I'm that person who checks out the jammies.
I've been meaning to write in the thread 'sleep too much..." thats me. I dunno....maybe 6 or maybe longer....weeks....I've had the most unfortunate luck with my health. At the begiining of June, I got the flu jab, almost immedately I got two bad bouts of food piosoning then flu like symptoms.... then both eardrums burst. The pain !! eek.
So good story last Saturday night; I'm so ill....
The hubby almost collapsed at home he says I think you better call the ambulance for me.
I'm saying no way ....Ille get you to the hospital quicker........oh, he finds out he has to quit smoking. So he's in hospital for 4 days.....I'm taking the week off the little work I do; I go and visit him....Mr very big tummy ( hubby) now he's quit drinking alcohol and illegal substances and now smoking and he's got all the nurses in his room having a Great time.......he sOOO funny and Witty. And he says.....Oh hi !! Um, I'm busy but I'de Love to see you tonight.....
My lesson in all of this is to remember how easily it is to stop self care.
