There is a thread operating on the Lived Experience Forum under Night Shift where members who are having trouble sleeping for any reason give a bit of a shout-out, to see if there is anyone else sleepless and looking for company. It's been such a great thing, I thought I would start one over here too.
I have had the odd few nights where I have woken up on and off, and my kids have been having a bit of trouble some nights too, depending on what has happened during the day.
Being a carer can be lonely too, so if you are making an after-midnight cup of something hot, and wonder who else might be doing that too, maybe have a look-in here and see if anyone else is about.
Hi @pip, that's unpleasant re your mature daughter, so unnecessary. Give her space. Be kind to yourself.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?
Hi everyone, just ducking in for a quick coffee. Strong cappucino please. Hope everyone has an ok day. Mine is going to be busy, but not until dark.
@pip I read your posts about your daughter. Sending you love and peace. I hope it sorts itself out in the future.
I'm all on edge. My blood pressure is frighteningly high and I'm back on medication. I haven't had to take any for a couple of years for that. Our house was due to be transported on the 18th October, and they told us on the Friday before, after hours, by emaill that it wasn't coming. We were very upset and their method of telling us was not acceptable. It's been sorted and it's coming tonight! Now I am excited, but I will only believe it when I see it on our block! We can't accompany it from the depot, since it's too far to drive down and back in one day for me. The arthritis in my neck will cause it to cramp and turn into a migraine if I spent that much time in a car, so we're heading to the next town instead to follow it. So, a 1am start tomorrow morning!
We have made good friends already with many of our new neighbours. They're enormously supportive and will help renovate our house. They invited us to a Halloween party last night. It was enjoyable. Everyone (but us) went to enormous effort with their costumes.
Hubby is being ruder and more controlling than ever, but I am kind of prepared. The house is a big thing and he gets more an more obnoxious as it gets closer. According to him, I am wrong on absolutely everything. It gets very tiring and I can't always bite my tongue. That's not healthy for me either.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?
Hi @artee. Nice to hear from you. Not familiar with you, but nice to get 'connected'. Great news about your house, although I do hear 'mixed' reactions. Understandable. Sounds as though hubby is the sort who needs to be in control and when he can't, due to circumstances beyond, he gets agitated. My ex was similar, if he couldn't 'do' whatever, no-one else had the ability, or knowledge. Poor man. I did find one way of dealing with the 'I am always wrong' feeling. Yes- he instilled that feeling on me. If I made what I thought was a sound, viable suggestion and he knocked it, I would simply ignore and go ahead. I seldom argued, can't argue with an unreasonable man. Just do whatever - your way. I might add, I finally got the courage to walk away, I decided he simply wasn't worth wasting my life. He is still in his rut, I have grown. You can't change him, you can change how you react to his negativity. It takes emotional strength to mentally walk away. I was lucky in that through my bf I was initially taught how to walk away mentally. Incredible a man teaching a woman how to grow, but he did. Usually men like to keep women where they think we belong. Not my guy, he totally re-educated me. I thank God for him and everything he's done for me. Initially he was my counsellor, then he became my mentor, now he is my bf (his recognition) of our relationship.

@Former-Member@pip@artee@Shaz51@Faith-and-Hope and anyone else I have missed....Morning!
@Former-Member - sunny here in the West. Still chilly though. Think meant be 22 degrees max. Would you say that spring weather? I don't have a clue anymore. Haha
This week at work is hopefully bit less stressful. Training for 3 days and then annual leave for 2 days as my cousin is down. Saying that though...got sign offs today so gonna be interesting. Hopefully not too much drama.
How is everyone today?
💗
