Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hi All

There is a thread operating on the Lived Experience Forum under Night Shift where members who are having trouble sleeping for any reason give a bit of a shout-out, to see if there is anyone else sleepless and looking for company. It's been such a great thing, I thought I would start one over here too.

I have had the odd few nights where I have woken up on and off, and my kids have been having a bit of trouble some nights too, depending on what has happened during the day.

Being a carer can be lonely too, so if you are making an after-midnight cup of something hot, and wonder who else might be doing that too, maybe have a look-in here and see if anyone else is about.

So exciting that your house is nearly here ..... and I am over the moon that your neighbours are so great .....

I reckon it won't take them long to work out what sort of trouble you're in with your hubby, and help you to manage him ... the guys might take him out fishing for the day or something ..... and when they socialise with you they will likely take over with him for a while, so you can retreat to company with the womenfolk.

Can't wait to hear about your house renovations ..... @Former-Member's on that page too .....

Hi @LooneyToones, thanks for the HM bikky earlier (sorry I missed you). Glad you're making home made soup - its become my stable for vegies intake. I've had a busy day, for me, walk, shopping, kyb meeting, mail, washing & bits. Pop over 'sleeping too much' thread if you like. Just had Donna, soup & chicken.

@Faith-and-Hope, glad WH's eye isn't too serious & he can fly next month. But, I'm sure underneath he will be rethinking the way he pushes his body (ed). Surprises me the specialist was so lenient though.
Are you OK? I'd love to take you out for a coffee, maybw back here later town ght, that will have to do.

@Shaz51, your activity today wins the Biggest Effort Award, hands down! I couldn't do that these days.

It may be that without a diagnosis in place the doctor is not permitted to flag the specialist to the suspected existence of an ed ..... and I am guessing he was hopeful the specialist would curb WH's activity a bit at least ....

This health issue will be added to the growing list though, so in that sense it's another documented symptom in the overall picture.

Have to start thinking about what to feed these kids for dinner ..... D3 bumped her head on the coffee table and has a headache, so I can't ask her to cook tonight .... would rather just stay in bed actually .... but this house doesn't run itself ....

MORNING @Faith-and-Hope, love the apple blossom coffee, made me smile - a splash of pink, a special one for @Appleblossom maybe (how ya doing Appleblossom?). How's your crew going F&H? Are you missing D1 much or is she in touch regularly? I had to laugh reading about D3's head on the table when asked "what's for dinner" ladt night. All too hard for ternagers lol. You're a saint, I was never much good at such routines, always did something though. After yesterdays shop I think I'm still shopping for family, not one. Have to be more mindful of that. Bit flat myself today, trying to ignore it. My bro4 has been troublesome even 2weeks on powerful antipsychotic, has review with Psychiatrist today, its hard to hold hope for him. Don't want to let go. Can only pray now, can't handle his tx msgs. Mum calls them 'gibberish' but she also calls his Dr "Syco" (instead of psychiatrist). My caring is from a distance. Maybe that's a reason I'm stuck here, God knew I'd throw myself in the thick of it & doesn't want that for me. My bones ache today. Glad to chat here 🙂

In a town we lived in growing up there was a kid who would jump out in front of cars with his magic stick that would stop the traffic ..... not good ....

Out for my dolphin walk. Just passed WH jogging back from his mum's ..... sigh

Beautiful day here. Water is looking really blue. Pelicans aren't around today .... not yet anyway. Peak hour traffic is tho ....

Going to try to get motivated to cook Tawney Soup today.

Not missing D1 too badly. She wasn't always available to come walking, and work and wedding prep had kept her busy. I have spent a lot of time alone when not "on duty" with family stuff .... and I grew up with a different value system from teens in the mining towns we were living in, and from the girls at boarding school .... my mum taught me how to keep my own company .... be my own best friend .... so feelings of loneliness can't get a hold on me easily. She was sick and alone for ling hours though most of her childhood, and a farm girl ..... then teacher's college .... then having to make new friends in the towns she was posted to ...

It's looking for sources of joy in the day that keeps you looking outward, not so focussed on the inner world, although there is time and place for that as well ....

Keep company with me today ? I'll tell you what I'm getting up to and you tell me .... ?

Sorry about your bro @Former-Member... its tragic, yet it keeps on going, so its battling and protecting self from the regularity of it ... Fancy your mother having so little respect for his doctor. They are family, but I guess we have to seek out our sense of family elsewhere ... here??

Oh Dear I am feeling very sheepish about my sitting on the road stunt. How did I get into such a state within less than 5 minutes to do that? There had been other moments were I was rushing around in the CBD and feeling upset about all the cars .. there is probably an essay in there somewhere .. my cat Patch does it ... the cat made me ..lol ... NOT.

I was feeling very taken for granted, and just flung straight into the middle of my pain.

Son called and we talked last night. His voice and tone was lovely .. emotional tone .. not musical ...I was relieved to hear from him and his plans .. has changed some ..dropping out of one concert due to me not doing the regular singing twice per day with him... he still doesnt get how much I do .. but I can let go .. if he can fly off and land well.

Yep that coffee is loverly @Faith-and-Hope hope you get good sightings of local fauna. I'll busy tomorrow learning about mine.

Mood pretty low, motivation low, prob meds, but making good plans for self .. so should drag the ole carcass out and about .. and be well behaved.
