Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hi All

There is a thread operating on the Lived Experience Forum under Night Shift where members who are having trouble sleeping for any reason give a bit of a shout-out, to see if there is anyone else sleepless and looking for company. It's been such a great thing, I thought I would start one over here too.

I have had the odd few nights where I have woken up on and off, and my kids have been having a bit of trouble some nights too, depending on what has happened during the day.

Being a carer can be lonely too, so if you are making an after-midnight cup of something hot, and wonder who else might be doing that too, maybe have a look-in here and see if anyone else is about.

@Former-Member - no you didn't scare me off. Just playing tennis match which I was rubbish at. Now just reading all the comments and saw this and thought I better respond! Just to say whatever side you are be it MI or carer of MI or both it doesn't matter. All that does is you are on the forums and having some lovely company 😊

@pip - since May wow! To be honest I struggle not seeing him day after but as time goes by most days it is so much easier....weird aint it. I think that's the current case where he sometimes talks about wanting to be alone and his psych said he shouldn't be in a relationship and i deserve better but doesn't say lets break up. I tell him I am here and tell him look i dont mind if he goes off and discovers himself. Just that he wants me around. But as you know he needs to be in that calm and listening state which these days get tough cause he gets real anxious at times.

Ok am back to reading other people's post...

@Faith-and-Hope was spot on. The weather is so crap!

Oh @Former-Member @pip to add on...my partner family doesnt help. Brother has ptsd and depression and his mum reckons has depression since dad passed 4 years ago. So they are very reliant on him. I think that it is mainly the family that is the reason he goes on holidays lately but have a bad time.

Less pressure in the kitchen, as it turns out @Former-Member .... I've worked out what he's doing .... just set out on his second walk .... so the walks are the same distance as the jogs were .... same track, but will just take double time .... but he skipped lunch to compensate for no gym work.

Prob not a good idea, seeing as it reduces his protein intake dramatically, but fir a couple if days it's not likely to make the difference ....

While the specialist will be focussed on his eyes, if they start enquiring about diet, excercise, life-style, and if he is spooked enough to be honest, they will hit the jack-pot ....

Trying not to get my hopes up too high yet.

No Apple..... @Appleblossom Im terribly selfish and tired and havent taken Arlo for a walk for over a day. HE is Mr Grumbly tonight......In 3/4 hour, Im picking my son up from work because he wants to come over and apologise for being a green smoking messy 22 year old and expect me to drive him home to see his filthy home.

This is when I want @Mazarita around because she has the knowledge in this stuff........

chocolate icecream and broken up nuts on top for desert tonight. We have a chicken stew for dinner.

Had pasta for dinner. Babysitting for a friend as she and her hubby go out for their early anniversary dinner. Her daughter is now watching inside out. Love the movie as i think rings some true to our emotions i say.

Cool on your post....I looked up the movie and yes yes, It looks great !

LAst night we watched Intrastellar ( me the second time....I didnt understand it the first time ) and I still didn't understand it completely because it was brought over from my son and it was not a good copy but my husband explained it all to me.

Pasta is SO yummy is'nt it ? We went out to an old Italian resturant yesterday in the Italian section in PErth and the old don's are sitting next to us..........lol.......

I had home made ravioli.yummdidi di di yummy yum di di yummy.....

How are you? Can you explain the eye thing to me ? I'm just about to get to church and then run off to me Mum's to help her clean her home...sorry, she orders me around and is exhausted because she has worked all night and all day getting the home clean after renovations...........

My hubby looks to have suffered some eye damage ..... I think it's from his compulsive exercising and weightlifting, but we have been given a priority appointment with an eye specialist tomorrow to find out.

If they don't diagnose and treat his eating disorder soon, he is headed for more things like this going wrong with his system, or a worse health crisis .....

I am hoping tomorrow's appointment will be the start of our break-through. Have to wait and see.

The weather here is beautiful is'nt it. We went to a big park at 6.30am to let Arlo run around for a little while this morning. I'm about to jump off to chuch and my huband better come with me okay??

Then off to Mum.s the eye specialists are wonderful here........I wonder what will come up there?

What about silly Turnbull saying the migrants in Nauru will never be allowed even to visit Australia ? I wander if it's the politics of being a Liberal wo will make him say this ? Or if he truly believes this ?
