There is a thread operating on the Lived Experience Forum under Night Shift where members who are having trouble sleeping for any reason give a bit of a shout-out, to see if there is anyone else sleepless and looking for company. It's been such a great thing, I thought I would start one over here too.
I have had the odd few nights where I have woken up on and off, and my kids have been having a bit of trouble some nights too, depending on what has happened during the day.
Being a carer can be lonely too, so if you are making an after-midnight cup of something hot, and wonder who else might be doing that too, maybe have a look-in here and see if anyone else is about.
I'm not really sure @Former-Member..actually improving my diet. I am holding stress in my body. I've been going to bed earlier. I'm not sure! My iron is always lower end, but I'm not anemic. I eat meat..vegetable. Hard one!

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?
@Faith-and-Hope - just saw news about WH....hopefully things be positive this weekend with him. People tend say expect unexpected or expect worst but I always love to try have a bit of hope. I be praying for that for you. 🙏🏻
Talking about unexpected got a text from partner saying he is sorry but is super depressed and wants lie in bed. Ask to catch up tomorrow. Told him not to be sorry sans rest up and hopefully he feels slightly better. Told him had tennis in arvo and babysitting in evening so he can try gone babysit with me or stay over at mine after. Let's hope he is feeling up for it and also that 1) he willing to listen to some advice and 2) that I say the right things.
Rivercruise was good just being on boat so peaceful but wasn't as packed as expected. Just came home now. Sleepy but thought I jump online before I sleep 😁
Work mate annoyed me a tonight though. Mentioned about partner difficulty now and his response was asking why am sticking. Saying it's too much hassle. I explained yet he judged saying how partner is a nice guy but it's too much trouble and I shouldn't stick around. Had to keep so calm and just say aware isn't easy but it's choice and I have ways to keep self positive and mentally strong.
Well I am gonna try rest. Week has been exhausting and the weekend is going to be tiring too.

Hi @Anony18 ..... glad you relaxed on the cruise for a while .... 😊
Mi issues are challenging, for sure, but so are so many other things .... there is something behind every door .... and people are people at the end of the day ....💕
I am hoping this latest health issue for WH sees him diagnosed .... and isn't too serious or far-reaching in its consequences .... I hope he will be let down gently .... sometimes answers come when you least expect them to, and in unusual ways ....
I kept being told that what he has been doing is not sustainable .... would much rather a lesser crisis pins him down instead of living in the shadow of a bigger one 😔.
Anyway .... heading off to sleep now ...
G'night 😴

Good morning everyone .... 😊
How are you going @Former-Member ..... ?
I have had my shorter walks this week cos there were commitments happening that stopped me from going on the longest one ... but not this morning ..... I'm up, dressed, bed made, and headin' out ....
Up for a virtual coffee with me ?

Good morning @Faith-and-Hope
That is great! I hope you enjoy your walk 😊
Will pass on coffee now but willing "sit next to you" as you have yours 💕
Tennis is going to be interesting later. Firstly I can hear the rain outside and secondly my body is so sore from the activities. Think need to stretch it all out!

Hi @Faith-and-Hope, Thanks for inspiring me with your powering on, even if we need to do it low key - we do SOMETHING! Today I've been discouraged again by walking buddy cancrlling today & tomorrow (blisters on her feet). Having a few palpitations but hope to get a walk in later in the cool & finish this lawn today at least. My thighs /hips feel thinner. Resisting the scales to see just yet.
@Anony18, hello, really must get to know you - tell me some of your journey.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?
Hi @Former-Member - hope you do get that walk later. Walking in fresh air is such a calming effect I find 😌
I joined the forums about 4 mths ago having to deal with my partner's MI. He tells me he suffers depression. And other than his psych only I appear to know. He claims he is a creature of solitude therefore dealing with it all himself and not wanting to talk to people. We don't live together so it tough at times cause I don't see him all that often given he isolates himself. Hard to have conversation to help him look at things in another perspective and see if that works. That is a summary. The journey thus far hasn't been easy. And am taking the decisions and what to do next step by step. It has its ups and downs like anything but the forums have been such great comfort knowing am not alone, having the support with zero judgement. A lot of my friends question why I am still with him and pretty much convincing me to leave him. That is something at this stage am choosing not to given my patience has not run thin and my partner hasn't said he wanted break things off (which to me is the assumption a sign he wants me around but just has the guilt that he doesn't want me to wait knowing I could get better). I am trying have some hope and think positive that we can get through this. Try think the glass half full situation and hope eventually it will help him get there.
Besides this forum that has helped me so far to get through the past 4 mths (though you have the hard days) is really keeping myself busy. I do dance and now play tennis pennants. Just had my big dance concert a few days ago. At times I been spontaneously going for walks down the riverside and even just go to the movies myself. All these things have helped.
How about you?

Hi @Anony18. You seem to be in the same 'pickle' I was, till I spoke to my bf about 'us'. Other people often think they know best, what's best for their friends/rellies. If you are content in your relationship be that living together, or apart, that is what's important, not what other's think. Everyone is entitled to their opinions - yes, but to actually impose their opinion is wrong. Your partner hasn't indicated he wants your relationship to end, if he did want to end, no doubt he would soon indicate. My bf has just actually confirmed we have the bf/gf connection. He actually lives interstate, which suits both of us as I do not wish to live with, nor him, me. When you do communicate with your bf, try to keep it light at the same time, let him know you're there if and when he does want to talk. Men, by nature are not natural talkers, they are not wired for emotional scenes. A man will run a mile, even from his wife, (that he claims to adore), before he will engage in a 'heart to heart'. That is simply not part of many men's make-up. I have a friend who has been married for 26 years. Their marriage is rock-solid, but if she tries to talk to him when he is 'not there' it's pointless. He simply doesn't hear her then, because he has switched off from her and is concentrating on his own thing. They have 3 daughters, as I said, their marriage is unbreakable, but gender- wise, he doesn't always 'get it'. They are more physical in their approach because they are wired physical. We are emotionally wired, so the 'hearts and flowers' are women not men. A man will give flowers/chocolates etc for wedding anniversary, birth of a child, wife's birthday, Christmas, only because they are 'stumped' when it comes to our clothes, hair style etc. Ask a man to give perfume, he frequently gets it wrong because of the smell, wrong combination of chemicals causing your allergic reaction to the perfume. They mean well, but men are basically simple folk with simple needs. We are far more complicated. Let him make his own decisions concerning his life. He will figure out where he is, it may take a while but as long as you are happy, that's all you can ask. I'm actually hoping to see my bf before too long. I haven't seen him since May. In the meantime I'm getting on with my life. I love him, he loves me, that's really all that matters.

@Anony18, well, I probably belong more on the other side of the forums but like to pop over here to our cyber-cafe for lighter company. I've been on sane forums since Feb/Mar as in need od MI awarw support myself ) - Maj Depression, bpd/C-PTSD, C-Grief... having had two long hospital admissions (suicidal 1986 & 2011). Also here for family support dealing with an alcoholic, controlling, batty mother, dad with dementia and two brothers with paranoid schizophrenia. Generally an entire dysfunctional, non-supportive train wreck of a family of origin. 2other bros & my sister ha e estranged themselves. My 2 children have left home (lost my girl 5yr ago to asthma 13yo). I live alone (divorces nightmare x12yr back). I fwel isolated in a clicky small town in Qld 250km from my son & 1200 from all other family (phone co tact mostly).
