@Decadian - sorry to hear about your loss! Hugs galore here! Welcome to the forum as well. As @Faith-and-Hope said it is for all to drop in no matter if you are self-carer or carer for someone etc. It is a forum to chill out and relax. There is an amazing bunch of people here. I joined up about a month ago I think, maybe more as time sure flies! And these people have been nothing but great support.

Self-carers - yes @Faith-and-Hope

We have to do the job well or it might be taken away - and I am one of the people who want to be carried out of here in a box -

I was asked when I was being approved for an Aged Care Package - why I was so determined to stay in my own home - there are a lot of people about who are just as determined and just as pig-headed about it as I am - like - does being allowed to sleep in count - does not getting up at 7.30am for an indifferent breakfast mean anything - or being allowed to sleep watching the news without someone changing the channels.

Maybe there are 100 hundred good reasons for living alone - anyone up for a list

But thanks - yes - I do think about my tax and the invisible carer because of the way my mother drove me away - and I gave her what she wanted - and stayed away - but that is a different side of caring

Not at all @Anony18 .... 😊

Yes ... D1 is helping and so are a group of her friends .... and D3 where she can in fits and starts around her schoolwork. She has started to settle down within herself ... as she said yesterday, she is starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel ....

That doesn't mean the next two weeks will be clear sailing .... but they hopefully won't be as traumatic as the last few weeks have been ❣

Definitely know what you mean by that! We just got to try to take it day by day as tough as it is! Particularly me speaking from experience!!!!

Well I am off to bed and to relax my mind for a bit going to read this book about a mermaid falling in love with a human which is forbidden....it does sound like Little Mermaid but it isn't
