Re: Feeling...
Thanks @Mazarita how are you? hope that youre going ok.
I havent had a great night but i did take time to be good to me, did a short whole body relaxation exercise and have had nice music on most of the night. But been fighting off some panic attack feelings, which im finding really odd because in between i feel just nothing then start t feel the racing heart and cant breathe feeling and panic comes up then disappears back to nothingness for a bit. i feel like im on some rollercoster that keeps shutting off mid way down the steep slope. i keep thinking that its really not normal' even for my 'normal' MI stuff that i have oh well... will give my psychiatrist/psychologist something to talk about i suppose?

Re: Feeling...
Hi @Former-Member, great to hear you have given yourself some kind attention today and tonight. I hope that maybe it helped a little with keeping the rollercoaster panic feelings from spinning too far out of control. Maybe the psychiatrist and psychologist will have something more they can offer you in the way of help with those panic feelings. Glad to see you are in on the 'pamper yourself' idea over the weekend that @Former-Member introduced to Night Shift. I neglect myself physically too much so it's a good chance to make myself feel a bit better with the three things I'm going to do. I like yours too. 🙂

Re: Feeling...
Had one sleep last night but woke up after a nightmare and didnt sleep after that so i think it was only a few hours and feeling like my cold has gotten so much worse. Kids are feeling very cooped up because its been such awful weather here this week. money is pretty tight but i think we might splurge and go spend $20 to go to the indoor playground thats fairly close because they just need to run and burn off some energy but im sure its going to be busy but i just have to cope and suck it up.
My nightmare was fairly awful, but confusing and set at my work but other older memories also somehow got included and its just imploding in my head. I wish i could cope better and somehow lealve work stuff at work. someone at work told me that i needed to do that. that i needed a filter to listen with that lets what im hearing and seeing in one ear and out the other.

Re: Feeling...
It would be handy if you could just go out and buy that facility @Former-Member, wouldn't it ?
I find visualisation techniques help a bit with that, and you can actually set up a physical system at home if it help you that way ......
Have you heard of the "envelope system" of budgeting ?
It's where you buy a packet of envelopes, then Mark the front of them with things like Power Bills, Water Bills, Car, Medical, School Fees, Rent, Groceries, Entertainment (that one is important !!). Then you try to work out roughly what you need to spend on these different areas, and break it down to a small amount each week to put in each envelope. You have to be careful to try not to raid envelopes to pay for something else, but you can do that in a emergency if you have to.
It means that you are putting aside a little bit each week to manage the bills as they come up, even if you have to add a bit extra in at the time, or extend the bill payment time, or something. It gives you a physical system to use to try and take some of the worries out of your head and put them into the envelopes instead.
You can use this system virtually too, where you use a computer spreadsheet to allocate money to the different areas, and then you know whatever the bank balance is saying, it's a tally of all these areas, so you have to work out how much you can afford to withdraw, and what needs to stay in the account to cover the bills.
Can you mark up some envelopes with Work, Housekeeping, Kids, etc, then write things down when they are bothering you, and post the worries into the envelopes ? You can even invest in extra envelopes, fill them up with worries, then post them in the bin up the street next time you are out, and see if they can stay there ❣
I hope this helps ...... 💜

Re: Feeling...
Many years ago I wrote a dot point list of all my negative thoughts. I put it in an envelope with a stamp addressed to:
N. No-one
? Somewhere St
Nowhere
Heavens knows where it ended up.

Re: Feeling...
Love it @Kurra ❣
It crossed my mind to suggest something like that ........ I wonder whether there is someone at each post office just binning tonnes and tonnes of letters addressed like yours 😆

Re: Feeling...
Hi,
Thanks @Faith-and-Hope and @Kurra
I did write a letter once that i burnt in theback yard. it was kind of a good experience but not sure. I dont think i could post something like that, too afraid someone would read it!
I do do my bills like that funnily enough (but through my online banking (everything is set up to automatically be paid each fortnight including my 'big bills' like electricity etc. though i didnt know it was called the envelope system.
Tonight i feel really sick, physically, not really sure this is a cold anymore but probably just worse because im a bit run down. Drs secretary phoned to book an appointment re tests from wednesday this week and thats freaking me out as there is obviously something in them if the secretary isnt giving them to me over the phone. so maybe im just freaking myself out into feeling worse too. or maybe im feeling worse because im not well and getting worse.
I see my psychologist on monday night, even though its a public holiday she's still seeing people in the afternoon. im just trying to sort of hold it together until then.
i'm going to put kids to bed soon and take a sleepy time helper... though theyre not that great at helping me to sleep, im going to try anyway and hope that i can sleep without the night mares tnoight. sleep will help..

Re: Feeling...
Enjoy the walk to the bridge in the meantime.
I heard a rather cute little saying from a friend:
Worry is like a rocking chair. It gets you nowhere.
I thought that was a very apt comment at the time.
