Gee @Former-Member
I wish I knew - I don't understand either - as well as the "why" questions I want a book on the "how" questions
Sometimes I feel like a 12 year old when I grouch that my parents prepared none of us for the real world - we were somehow just expected to know - I got to legal age when I was 21 - (this dates me) and we were turfed into the world totally unprepared
So I am glad you have the day off LJ - and can do some research - but I am sorry about that cold and headaches etc - it does take a vrus to get a cold - and stress can give headaches a bad name
btw - I am thinking about writing that book, I know why - but I don't know how
Send some virtual hugs

Re: Feeling...
Come to think of it a crystal ball would be helpful.. see if things are going to work out ok!
the how questions are just as valid too!
Its so cold and wet here today... but compared to other parts of the country its been mild!! no houses have been washed off into the ocean so i'll be grateful for that.
Also having snuggles with my cat which is nice today!

Re: Feeling...
A lot of today's youth celebrate their 18th and 21st. I guess it's another reason for a good birthday bash.

@Kurra
Hi All
We hold a family party (their friends included) for our kids at 18yo as a "coming of age" - as in "baby adult" - but they only really get their adult wings by about 21 years old.
At that point we get them to organise another family party, but this time they have to drive it - go and organise all the food and drinks, music, etc according to a budget. That one is usually themed, or fancy dress, or something that denotes their own character.
Our first major event to organise, husband and I was our wedding, at 21yo. Wished at that time we had had a bit more experience at organising some sort of event, so this is our way of getting our kids launched a bit further in life.
It doesn't matter if they make mistakes. It matters that they give things a try.

Re: Feeling...
Hi all,
i stayed home today, feeling really blah with this cold i have, but also really mentally exhausted and numb today after a big few days. i have this quiet voice in my head saying that it was a mistake to try and go back to work because i'll never be able to cope with it and keep messing up. sigh! wish my brain would be quiet.

Baby Adult / Baby Dragon .......... ??
Sometimes I think these are interchangeable names ............ ❣❣
Sometimes they burn you, sometimes they scratch .......
Gotta just keep lovin' them anyway ❣

Seems to me you need to tell that little voice to shut up!

Re: Feeling...
Just keep keeping on @Former-Member.
Many people have debilitating issues that they have to work with or through, and work-places have to accommodate. There are not enough perfect people in the world to change a light bulb !! That's just media hype ......... "Perfect" people are the real people !!
We all have stuff going on, and it doesn't remain exactly the same. You are a valuable employee ....... don't beat yourself up over taking self-care days that you need. Systems are in place to cater.
Just focus on resting and maybe getting some gentle music going to help drown out that naughty voice that is disrupting your peace of mind ❣

that made me smile lol! i've seriously tried! might have to offer him chocolate to shut up!
@Faith-and-Hope
i hope your trip into the art room went as planned and that both parties were able to work toghether on the project ok. fingers crossed that completing the project, even if over time, will result in a feeling of accomplishment through the battle!
i've got some music playing and trying to enjoy the stillness for a bit. going to pick up kids from school in a half hour then son has appointment at 5 for an hour (so hard to get after school appointments!) so will see how we go!

Re: Feeling...
Hi @Former-Member, so glad you have taken a day off to recover from your cold and anxiety. Tell that worrisome voice that it is now June and you have been managing the job all year, regardless of how pesky that voice is to you. Then maybe try to ignore it. How about some pampering as we were discussing last night? Give yourself a foot massage? A bath? Some gentle breathing exercises to relax your body? Anything enjoyable that you might be able to do just for you. Sending warm vibes your way.
