Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Well hello to anyone who's discovered this new thread .... and welcome!!!

For some time I've noticed things are a bit quiet on a Saturday, especially in the evening. So this will be a social gathering for all forumites and hopefully a place to relax and meet friends. It's also a place where you can talk about whatever's going on for you at the moment, safely, and find support.

If you want to bring something to eat or drink that would be welcome, whatever makes you happy.

Actually that may be a good place to start - jump in anywhere and let us know one thing that makes you happy - currently or over time.

Really looking forward to finding a posse to hang with on a Saturday.

L E T ' S P A R T Y !!!

And of course the beverage of your choice.

EDIT : Do feel free to contribute some music too. Of any style. The more the merrier ...

Welcome!!!

Dry & hot here in Summer @Shaz51 Generally low humidity, except when it rains - which is only in the Winter (rainy) season.

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Hi @octavia Don't know. Just feel myself going down again with the sudden stopping of appts. Saw her 3 times, just started to think I could trust her, started letting the top off some really bad, hard things and now nothing. It was 5 weeks ago I had the last appt, when she gave me a time but it was a public holiday. So I contacted them only to be told that I have not been given another appt and the earliest that I will see anyone is 11th Nov. They PROMISED that B or someone would ring me but they have not. That was 2 weeks ago. Asked to speak to a manager or someone and they said they were out but would ring. They haven't. Asked if there was any way to see her or someone sooner, even if I take a day to go to the city for it, and they said that if it could happen I would find out no later than this morning. I never heard so obviously not.

Having to go to the city is difficult because I also have physical problems with arthritis and other stuff. The only way I can do it is with public transport which makes it a 13-14 hour day which is very tiring for me and also causes a lot of pain, along with the added expense from the pension. I have to go down the week before the appt I could get for a specialist appt. Another 4 weeks wait seems so long when I have nothing.

I feel that I am a burden when I keep going to friends for help. I have one that calls me 1-2 times a week and gets me to go to her for coffee. She has had bad times and things but I don't feel I can burden her with all I am going through. We usually just sit with coffee watching TV and she insists on feeding me. The company is good, but I really think I need the professional help. I had just started telling B some things, but there is still so much I have to try and work on.

I just feel so rejected again. It took so much energy to get onto help in the first place. Now I feel I am heading back where I was even though I have started on meds because they are not alone enough. And I am also stresing about whether what I heard about her stopping and someone else coming is true. That would mean starting again. I do not know if I can manage to restart with B after a 9 week break with nothing then have to start with someone else soon after. I really do not handle rejection, stress, and the lack of help well. All I want to do is lie in bed with my monkey and the cat. But I also want to get someone to give me the help I need and not just reject me after a couple of sessions.

I probably do not make a lot of sense, but I am just letting things out. At least this is the one place I have not been judged, ridiculed or rejected for what I am and what I have gone through and not tolld to just get over it or called a liar.

I really do appreciate having the forums here.

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

@octavia I'll have a look at your thread. Wondering if @Bunniekins can make any suggestions?

@cutiepiekitty One thing coming to mind is that some people I've seen on here have found therapists that do on-line consultations for people in remote areas. I'm not sure how to find them tho'. Any suggestions @Former-Member s?

Or CGs? @Faith-and-Hope @outlander @frog @Teej @CheerBear @Shaz51 ?

Hi @Adge ! How's your day been?

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Off the top of my head I think a fair few counsellors will offer skype sessions. You can always get a mental health care plan for you GP and have a look at https://www.psychology.org.au/Find-a-Psychologist to find one that you feel would suit?
Hope this helps!

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

naw @cutiepiekitty I'm sorry that the help u needed may have left. what do plan to do?

In response to: Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

@LouLouMagoo I have a plan, but it was done by the organisation that I saw the counsellor with and I do not have a copy of it. Being in a country area means I do not have many that are available to me, and also cost can be a problem as I am only on disability

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

@octavia don;'t know what I am going to do at this stage. Might just have to wait it out for the next 4 weeks. Tried looking up others around here but ther are none listed. The doctors could only give me private ones that are all over $100 a visit after medicare and I cannot afford them. It is always the same.......if you do not have the money you do not get the help easily enough. Will try contacting them again I suppose. Just trying to look up and see if they have anything about what to do if they cancel and you need help

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

@eth @octavia have just found on their website that they say they are meant to give you a feedback form at the end of giving service. I never got one, so I suppose they are saying that they have not totally cancelled me? There is also an address for the CEO for feedback and complaints. Think I will send them a letter. Can only be done through the mail, not email. Not going to think about it today. Maybe tomorrow or Monday I will be feeling a little more able to put words together properly. Until them will just make noted in my book with what I will tell them about what I am not happy with and how I feel about it. If I did it now I KNOW I would say things I do not mean and should not say. Could not send it before Monday anyway.

I suppose that is a start. Will not do much for me in the short term, except maybe the satisfaction of being able to tell someone in authority at the organisation it is not good. Maybe they will consider it before doing this to anyone else. I really do not think they understand what effect this sort of effect this has on someone that has just got the courage to manage to start getting help.
