I'm sorry

I'm sorry

Hi there everyone. Lately I haven't been getting much out of the forums and to some extent it's actually making me a bit anxious. One or two weeks ago I took a break for a few days and it was good because it allowed me to focus on other things. I don't blame anyone on here for anything bad that has happened, but I sometimes feel like there is a bit of a clique or groups that I can't really be a part of. I usually try to tag many people in my posts, sometimes joining in on other ones but I feel like this is probably just annoying a lot of people. It's just a weird feeling I have and I find that checking the forum too much can make that anxiety worse. Lately I'm just not getting support on here as much as I used to. I appreciate that everyone is going through their own battles with mental health, but I do sometimes feel that talking about successes I have had are not helping other people and so I feel like I'm getting ignored. There have been a few times in the past week or two that have made me feel uncomfortable on here. I don't want to single people out.

I am not going to delete my account. But I am going to limit the amount of times I check the forums. When those times are will just depend on the individual day. But I'm doing this with a heavy heart because I do like it here, but I get the impression that people don't care or don't want to hear about my life and that some people are bored by it.

I hate that I am saying this, but I need to express this rather than keep it bottled up.

Thanks for listening.

Re: I'm sorry

Just got home and found your new post @MDT I certainly would miss you if you were not around. I am not up to supporting or posting much myself at the moment but I very much hope you stick around. Take time away or a backseat if you need to but engage again when you need to also. I love having my little buddy around - just sayin'

Re: I'm sorry

Hey @MDT 👋

Thought I would also throw my two cents in. When I first joined these forums it was very open and welcoming. Now I find nobody misses me when I’m not here for weeks at a time. Many times I’ve thought about leaving permanently, instead I take pauses from here just like I do in rl.

I find it difficult to be relatable to most members and my anxiety causes me to not post often, but I do read threads quite often without posting. Perhaps this is why I am not missed, who knows?

Re: I'm sorry

@Queenie I'm sorry you have felt this way whether currently and/or in the past.

As much as possible, we want this to be an open and inclusive space so that people, regardless of their personal opinions, can feel safe enough to open up to the community without judgement.

Everyone's timing is different Queenie and I hope, even if you don't post often, that parts of the forum give you joy.

Re: I'm sorry

Hi @MDT

Firstly, what a gutsy post and so intuitive. Getting to know yourself is part of the recovery process, but being able to express that is pretty damn powerful. Kudos!!

Surviving our mental health issues can be a frustrating and confusing journey at times. Reading your words bought home my own growth problems, as in who I am in the scheme of things when I change and the people around me don't; or vice versa.

Change is inevitable. How we cope with those times is probably more important than change itself. I think you're doing a great job with the honesty and vulnerablity you've shown us. It takes courage to be yourself when life seems bleak. I applaud you...

I don't know where I fit either on Sane at times too. It's not anyone's fault of course because we each have our own way of sharing and caring, which resonates with some, but not others. It's the same in RL.

To me, the fact you're acknowledging this phase is a sign of progress. So well done!

Sending kind thoughts your way hun. 💌 Enjoy this new path you're creating.

Keep up the great work...

Hope xo

PS. And to all who've responded? What caring people you are. Just beautiful!

Re: I'm sorry

Hi @Queenie I think sometimes I feel the same way as you. When I first joined I found it difficult to join in with others posts. And to be honest I was scared to join in because I thought I was “interrupting” someone else’s post. I still feel like that now. I don’t want to be a pain to interrupt. I used to think that there were too many clicky groups and I felt like an “outer “.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that sometimes I struggle to read too many posts. I do get confused and forget everyone’s issues.

But I do think of you snd im sorry that I haven’t posted more on your post.

Pls don’t feel like no one cares because we do. And I understand the anxiety.

Take care @Queenie xx
