The Fast Turnaround, Dizzy one day, Deathly the next

The Fast Turnaround, Dizzy one day, Deathly the next

AH. <sigh> I had three good days - i could tell I was elevated, but didn't think I was hypo-manic. If the C-r-a-s-h today is any indication I was more elevated than I thought.

I seem never to have 'normal' - I am rarely sparkly. spinning, happy and full of chatter and life I get a few days of it and feel great - then nasty irritable sets in, then down

going down
Floor 5 - Ladies gloves, scarves and apparell.

<sigh>
I am so sick of the turbulence.

Also what has helped is the sharing of similar stories - lived experience with MIL and mothers. I have a cas eof terminal uniqueness and it is a good reality check to know other people go through similar stuff.

Yeah, I reckon that's part of the real value of these forums, for Carers as much as Lived Experience - sharing in the realisation that we are not alone.

There are differences and uniqueness, for sure, but that just adds colour and diversity.

When we all pull together we become greater than just ourselves.

You can feel it, can't you ?

Loving it ❣

Hi @MoonGal so glad to hear that your mum is in care now and that you are getting some support today. I hope you're able to feel relieved soon and have some 'me time' before the next transition with your mum. What a break-through that she's agreed to go into a residential facility. You've been awesome handling all of this with her and having your own health to look after at the same time.

Oh @MoonGal I have just caught up on reading your thread. I thought you had dropped off the forum, but here you are! You have had a mighty rollercoaster ride and role reversal. I love your turn of phrase ... "terminal uniqueness". When we realise we are all special barriers seem to dissolve.

I am glad your mum is going to be settled. She will be better off even if it took her some hiccups to realise. I didnt have the struggles you did with my mother as she decided ahead of time and organised it herself after her cancer diagnosis. I have been in a few aged care facilities and I thought they were friendly and decent and most staff cared, probably more expertly than the care that could be provided at home.

I have a girlfriend from choir who is starting to get very confused. My problem is that I accept other people's and my own confusions as normal ... and that is not always a good thing... but I have her daughter's mobile and she is good value and very together.

Just thinking of you.

Thanks @Appleblossom for finding me over here in my own demented thread!

Thanks @eth, @Faith-and-Hope, @BlueBay, @Mazarita for your ongoing popping in and encourgaement and care. What a great place we have all created for one another. I have noted no moderators have commented althought hey might be lurking?

I have a few seconds to type then shower then get to the Psychologist I am seeing to help me stay on the planet with all of this. Then off to the hospital to see mum and try to get Power of Attorney (such a huge responsibility but necessary to proceed with allt hat has to be done).

What I want to say is this....

I am amazing, strong, creative, bright and CAN get through all of the necessary scary things like 31 page income assessment forms, finding the $300,000 to $500,000 (OMG!) to get Mum into Care and within weeks we will have her settled and it is ALL going to be alright.. ONE DAY AT A TIME.

I had two days off trying to just chill and stay calm with double dose loads of anti-psychotics on board, i thought I might be able to ease off the daytime one today to keep a clear head, but the reverse has happened (I am elevating rocketing towards the moon) so will double down in a moment again (All signed off my P-doc)

<sigh, scream, wail, wobble, strong, weak, scared, solid, exhausted, laugh at the madness of it all>

I still have the migraine, wavery waterfall lights at edges of vision, louder tinnitus, and now it has also added in some spots before the eyes and vertigo and dysphonia (stuttering/throat constriction). So that with the laryngitis, ear pain, cold sores and very sore joints and throat all adding up to a body that has been VERY stressed for too long (all about my dear old Mum). I have to wear sunglasses inside now if there are lights on and my computer screen is set to the lowest light. I do hope all this lets up soon. I suspect until Mum is settled in her permanet care, I will continue to struggle with stress related symptoms.

Every one who has ever been through this with their Mum or Dad I stand and salute you all.

Hi @MoonGal,

Sounds like there is heaps going on for you right now! I haven't had a chance to read through it all yet but I'm glad to hear you are getting support from your friends here and your psychologist, and that you have confidence in yourself being able to handle everything - I have confidence in you too!

Thinking of you

Re: The Fast Turnaround, Dizzy one day, Deathly the next

This thread has become a deep well of wellbeing.

I am beside myself, but in myself. I think only someone esle who lives with anxiety, bi polar, OCD, PTSD could get how that works. IN and OUT of states, but able to pull it togther when in front of Mum or talking to health professionals.

Saw the counsellor again today. NUMBER ONE thing I MUST do is protect myself (and my inner kid) against the abuser and I have sent her off to a holiday island with Xena princess warrior and a handful of Amazons to protect her, also a few carers to play with her (Xena not being particualalry fond of kids). I need to strong visualisation to protect my adult too, but am having difficulty with that 'cos Xena can't be in two places at once <laugh>/

Okay gals! Loves you all and thank you.

Today, I hope my Mum is with it because she has to sign some legal papers and I have lined up a JP, if she is out of it I can't do that task, and I am in a deep hole of poo because without it I cannot act FOR her. Send "Bright and present, brain on" vibes towards her please!
